hey my lovelies, thanks for thinking of me, the group was really good, roo seemed to enjoy it but wanted feeding half way through, didnt go to breast feeding support am just too tired, am going to baby group tomorrow though as some of the others that were there today go so i said id see them there. i spoke to lots of diffeerent mums, they all seem really nice, didn't build up to asking people for coffee but maybe tomorrow i'll suggest it as theres a coffee shop up the road, but we'll see.
Am absolutely exhausted, really need to sleep but roo doesnt seem tired at all, really hope he has a nice long nap soon!
hope you're all ok x0 -
That is great it went well. It took a few weeks for someone to get up the courage to say lets all go to the pub for a drink (non alcoholic of course) so just having a chat with a few people is definately a great step. Also good that you will see them at group tomorrow. Is nice when you see the same faces.0

Here are a few low fat ones I know of....
Pasta bolognese - (have recipe for low fat one if you'd like it) good one for batch cooking and putting in fridge/freezer for few meals
Salmon, new pots and veg
Chicken curry (again low fat recipe) - batch cooking option again.
Spicy chicken pasta (again low fat recipe)
Steak with new pots and veg
Veg chilli (again low fat recipe)
Jkt pot - healthy filling & salad
Omelette with side salad
These are a few that I follow and do the trick, key is portion sizes. Happy to message you the recipes of any if you want them. I like the bolognese and chicken curry as can batch cook them and put couple in fridge for during the week and freezer for later when required. Due to OH's work often eating alone....it's no fun is it, know what you mean with the cereal thing.
That said I have just had a weird dinner of two low fat sausages, can of tinned tomatoes heated up over a slice of granary toast...low fat and yummy if you don't mind soggy toast!

I'm on a weight loss bid as well MissyMoo - doing it with a brand new baby is a lot of pressure to put yourself under though my love! Well done on talking to people - it's a massive step forward. Try and keep it in mind that mummy meet up's have different rules to any other social or semi-social setting. Everybody is looking to make friends really quickly and you will share more personal information within the first few hours than you do in years of a normal friendship. That's why they end up lifelong friends! Babycentre is also really great for forums, trouble shooting and making friends. And there's always someone else online in the middle of the night.
Have you spoken to the dr about the feeding and vomming? It could be reflux? Some spit up is normal. I also wonder if you're feeding lying down (I think I read that your breastfeeding?)? It's the most valuable skill any new mummy can learn! It just means that there is so much less disruption and you get much more rest. Again, pm me if you want information. You could also try the baby massage if the baby is waking loads in the night. What kind of birth do you have? Have you seen an osteopath? Sorry, just loads of trouble shooting stuff coming to the surface! From what I've read Roo is still very, very tiny so you should expect to be having broken nights, restful calm days with lots of opportunity for naps and some gentle exercise/fresh air (as in a nice walk!). It can also be useful to keep a diary. The reason for this is because when you're in the thick of it it can seem relentless and like it will never get any better but things are changing all the time and it is much easier to track the improvements and spot any potential triggers.
The other really useful tip given by my beloved GP was to avoid the temptation of cramming your diary full of engagements and to ensure that you have at least one day a week with nothing planned so you can have slopping around in your pj's days. He was a wise man
If I lived closer I'd pop round and make you a cup of tea, give you a big hug and keep the baby calm for an hour so you could have a long, hot soak in the bath. I can't do that so I'm going to send an intention to the universe that you meet a lovely soulmate mummy friend in the very near future to have someone to giggle with and cry with.
My little Roo is now crashing around the kitchen moaning about unloading the dishwasher - they grow up so quickly! Grab as many cuddles as you can now before he starts smelling of hamster and grunting at you through his fringe!
