Thank you Mrs E for starting this thread and to those who suggested H and M - I have one locally and just popped in - loving the regular waist as I'm of an age where low rise isn't a good look...! Will definitely be shopping here again now that I know my size

One slight niggle is that my jeans were £30, but the website had what looks like exactly the same pair for £15! (can't be entirely sure as there is no code on my jeans) Not sure I can be bothered with the hassle of ordering and returning the others for the sake of £10. GRR

I order online a lot form H&M as the nearest one to me is miles away, they are probably one of the worst sites I order from, the site itself is slow and temperamental and delivery takes ages, sometimes two weeks and you have to pay for it but, and it is a big but, if you check on the discount code and vouchers board before shopping online you can get some fantastic bargains and as you said the clothes etc are cheaper on their anyway, if it helps at all I have returned stuff and there hasn't been a problem but your right it is hassle its just so cheap it makes it worth it:)
Thank you for this site Martin

I always buy my jeans from Red Herring in Debenhams.
They are insaley soft and just really comfortable. I've had plenty of compliments when wearing them too which is a bonus :)

Next preferrably. Find their jeans a flattering shape, designed for women, yet trendy.

I like Gap Curvy or Superdry jeans, they always seem to fit well.

I've got an OK waist but big in the hips/bum area and my legs can't go near anything skinny! I love Gap's Curvy Straight - only discovered them a few months ago and love them to bits :)

For everyday wear you can't beat Very's South brand (Pippa High Rise) in both straight leg & skinny fit, only about £20 a pair too. For going out I love G-Star RAW skinny fit jeans, great quality & fit :)

  • I have never had a decent pair of UK bought jeans. I'm a size 14 with fairly chunky thighs and a ridiculously tiny waist (I'd be Jessica Rabbit if only I had better thighs!). They always end up with a gap at my spine which could fit a whole family in.

I spent over an hour in the Levi's store in Glasgow trying all the curve jeans before the girl finally admitted defeat and told me to try John Lewis own make - they were no use either.

Next used to be ok but I hate low rise with a passion so haven't tried them in years.

I only buy jeans in the US now. I'm fortunate that I'm there a few times a year so I buy in Chicos or Ann Taylor. I've found that I can pretty much get jeans anywhere in the states - even shops like Wetseal as Claire mentioned - I wouldn't venture near their equivalents back home but I'm fairly confident going in here as I know they fit. I tend to buy a couple of pairs per visit. I'm here now but have been good and only bought one pair so far.

My mum has tried NYDJ and they looked good but didn't wear well - they "seated" in the bum really quickly and the shop didn't explain that they would slacken off a lot so she sould have really bought a size smaller.

One of my friends has recommended 7 for all mankind jeans - she swears blind they will fit me. To be honest I've had so many bad experiences back home I haven't dared to try them - some shop assistants look at you like you are dog poop when you announce that none of the 6 pairs you have in the fitting room fit. (John Lewis do them so I could order online I guess).

I don't mind paying for them - I just want them to fit. Seems like the impossible though:)

I have 7 for all mankind jeans and they are probably some of the worst (but most expensive) ones I own, however they seem to be cut very small on the waist for the sizing so might be good for you its certainly worth trying them on, I do find they lose shape very quickly and go baggy on the bum.

Thanks - don't think I'll bother trying them. The search for the elusive pair of perfect jeans continues then!
