  • Used to pay a quid per clean / disinfect in the late nineties. Haven't had a wheelie bin since then.

    I clean my own bin

I am not in he business of lining the pockets of cash in hand operators who may or may not be on Bennies..
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

I use bags before i put rubbish in the bin, but unfortunately lodgers, visitors and people passing by don't!

I watched one guy empty dog poo in to my bin!!

In Summer, it stinks any-way..whatever we do.
Even when you feel like you have nothing, someone else has far less. Find them and help them. You’ll see why.....

All the bin cleaners I have met weren't doing it cash in hand..
most were running it as an official business.

You are wasting money on the bags you wrap your rubbish in... (Just a money saving thought there)

Wrap soggy stuff up in newspaper if it *has* to go in.

Someone putting dog mess in is HORRIBLE.

Ask your council about food waste recycling. This cuts down on the soggy nasty stuff. (And cut down on the food waste you throw away)

I paid a few years ago to get my bin cleaned. From a money making point of view I don't see it as particularly worthwhile tho. Our man had a little truck he used to go round in, used his water and power cleaner. How many could you realistically do in an hour when you factor in time. Then with your costs it seems like a failed enterprise to me.
I would probably pay £3 quid for a clean at the end of the summer when things get a bit smelly.
Sadly, you don't have any badges yet but keep trying! See what you could get........... oh boo hoo I am crying into my wine. :D

Everytime you feel like paying £2 or £3 to have your wheelie bin cleaned, put it in your piggie bank instead until you have enough to buy a pressure washer. Then you can clean your wheelie bin anytime to want, to your own standards and let it dry properly before putting it back up the side of the house.

Several people in our road do, as a wheelie bin cleaner comes round every other week.

I certainly wouldn't pay, the smell of the chemicals he uses is more pungent than the wheelie bin!
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
  • I might be living in a neighbourhood with particularly grubby and negligent people about. Our bins are outside each set of eight flats and anyone passing by could dump their stuff in them but I have never, ever seen anyone around here cleaning wheelie bins. They're not noticeably whiffy even in summer but then we're still lucky enough to have weekly collections.

I've never considered cleaning my bin and most certainly have never dreamed of paying good money for someone else to do it.
