Seriously: what do people throw away?
I compost all the veggie peelings anyway and there's very little meat waste with a couple of cats about the place.

So are you the lady from the cat in a wheelie bin video?! :rotfl:

LOL I don't keep the cats in the wheely bin! They do sit temptingly on top of the bins sometimes though.

I once met a Mexican who lived in a wheelie Bin.

He was an illegal immigrant and homeless man, and used it as his home. He had stopped for the night at the rear of my Condo building in Inglewood CA.

I opened it to throw in the trash and he tried to stab me for trying to steal it.

No. My rubbish doesn't get that dirty, it did once when I left a couple of bags in the bin for 6 weeks during the summer and cleaning it wasn't the nicest job I've done but it's quick and easy so I'd rather save the money. But it does involve tipping the bin on its side and crawling into it when is quite amusing and fun to watch so I can understand why people would pay!!

When I first moved in, I did. The practice round here is to put raw rubbish in the bin and my bin was rank! I saw the pressure washer vehicle, took down the 'phone number and set up a contract.

After a few weeks, the bin cleaning became very irregular and then they went bust.

I always put well bagged rubbish out, even double bagging if I think there might be a problem, so when the pressure washers came around again, I had no need of them.

The bin men round here have a strict rule where they will only take rubbish from the bins. Any extra rubbish on or around the bins get left behind. So every so often, normally around Christmas time, cheeky sods look for 'spare' bins to put their extra rubbish in so cleaning is still a necessity but nothing like as bad as it first was.
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

I would pay someone to do it for me as I struggle to move the bin now, let alone spring clean it!

Giving it to the boys to do for pocket money would not be a good move for me, two boys with ASD, one of those with severe asthma would not make for a calm day........eldest could do it but I would have to get him on a quiet time when he is not studying, not at school and not at his part time job.

Not that I would pay much or have it done very often mind...maybe once or twice a year.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

We only have garden waste and kitchen waste going into our wheelie bins, everything else goes in black bags or recycling bags. I have my wheelie bin cleaned once a month, think it's about £3.15 (I pay 6 months at a time). I've seen inside my neighbour's green bin in the summer - they don't have theirs cleaned and it's rank compared with ours. Rotting grass cuttings clinging to the bin absolutely stink.

Even when you feel like you have nothing, someone else has far less. Find them and help them. You’ll see why.....
