  • Morning everyone :)

Hope the weekend is going well - Shaggy, you put the biggest smile on my face this morning with your well done (day 4 of not smoking today.....and trying hard not to burst with excitement :D)

Gardenanna - you sound like you are on a bit of a journey with your alcohol ponderings - hope you find your right path. Glad to hear things are back on track with DIL - it must be difficult.

(((Hugs))) to everyone and anyone who needs them today.

Bigdrinker - just wanted to say I hope you're ok, you disappeared and never came back after the funeral you had to go to.....
  • 22 AFDs done for Jan please Shaggy. I can't reach my target now but aim to get as close as possible.

Can you put me down for full monty SNC pls bearacus.....failed by 1 night last week, so determined to stay on track next week

Should be out on a 10k run right now, not sitting on the sofa with a belly full of bacon & eggs

Must try and remember where I put that bag of motivation and willpower...........

Morning all - Sunday so just finished breakfast!

    19AFD in January Shaggy, thanks

Got weighed this morning and 1.5 lbs down so 6lbs in total. Got a LOT to lose so I'm taking it steady as it will be a long haul. Would have been more if I hadn't been drinking like a fish from 1st to 9th January as usual :( Still, that's behind me now :)

Congrats to the non-smokers. I stopped about 11 years ago - so long ago I can't remember the exact date! A few years ago I attended a few AA meetings but decided it wasn't for me. However at one meeting I heard that giving up smoking was deemed to be HARDER than giving up alcohol - so well done to all who are having a go at it now :T

Got to do my tax return now - deliberately doing it in the morning so I won't be tempted to have a drink to celebrate finishing it - I've made some lovely choccy buns to have instead :)

Good luck everyone, and have a nice peaceful Sunday

Bearacus- can you please put me down for the full SNC.

Well done everyone on the AFs and also to those stopping smoking!
I stopped smoking almost 18 months ago and i really think its one of the best things i have even done for my health. I dont regret it at all. I love being a non-smoker.

If only i could give up chocolate as easily and get addicted to exercise instead!!

    Have a fab Sunday!

Well done on the weight loss lizzybusy.:T
    I know what it's like.I lost 3 stone 2 yers ago, sadly it's keeping it off that's the problem.:rotfl:
At christmas I was the heaviest i've ever been, and getting breathless.
I decided to turn my life around, get rid of the major trigger for drinking; an unhappy relationship.
I'm on my own now, eating healthily and excercising. Have u seen how many calories in alcohol!!
Hoping to achieve my weight loss, by the end of the summer; then book a well deserved holiday!:)

    Good luck
Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life!
No buying unnecessary clothes even if they are reduced.

The problem for me is not how many days I drink but how much I drink when I start.

So I have 2 very social meets planned in Feb and my aim is to drink less than a bottle of wine on each occasion.

The rest of the month I will stick to my usual rules.
    Start info Dec11

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi all,

I wasn't AF again last night  but there is no longer any alcohol in the house so no temptation. I added up how much I have saved by not drinking as just buying a couple of bottles this week put £10 on my shopping bill and I was buying every day... so that's at least £35 a week  so this month I have saved so far £90... so if I'd not drunk all month it would have been £155...that's a very sobering amount! That explains why I can never stay within my grocery budget :o

Anyway, have been for a long run again this morning and got all the washing and ironing done, so can now sit back and relax for a bit. Might try and read some of my book and maybe have a long soak in the bath.

Well done on all the weight losses being reported. I am trying to lose a bit, though it appears that it went on a whole lot easier than it wants to come off!!!

Enjoy the rest of Sunday x
