    12 AF please Shaggy

Phew, finally managed to clock up an AF night. what a weeks holiday this has been so far, didnt get to go away as DH still in bed with flu, and other family members have been quite poorly requiring a stay in hospital, thankfully nothing too serious. By the end of this week i think i will have gained my brownie nursing badge ;)
Please bear with me re the SNC postings this week they may appear quite erratically ie like this morning as opposed to in the eve. Thanks x

Well, I'll be staying in today, the snow is too bad to go anywhere. Kids are still in bed and I'm having some ME time. Hoping everyone is doing okay and doesn't succumb to the drink because they are snowed in. Just had a lovely mug of tea, and you know what, last night I drank and o and passion fruit j20 and app and mango j20 and they were stunning also lemon barley squash is lush.

You're doing so well. If my own journey was anything to go by then needing to have a substitute drink in your hand does pass in time (except in pubs and restaurants). meanwhile enjoy your new found favourites.

Sounds a tough way to spend your week off mackeroo (or should we call you Florence?;)).

I really hope your hubby and other family members get well soon. Don't worry about the SNC postings so much. I never report my SN as AF either til next morning or before I go to bed, and never report my AF days til the day is over. Hope you can cope with the stress and disappointment of your cancelled holiday. Well done for not drinking last night, you must be really fed up, and let's face it we don't need much excuse to have a drink, do we. Thankyou for all your hard work and for caring about us enough to keep us motivated.

Well done to you satchmo, no wonder you feel proud of yourself you should. Let us know when its out wont you?

Jak, I am already on income support, have been since mid December, but i know this will change in march as my youngest turns 5 in feb. I will automatically move onto JSA and be expected to loook for a 16 hr week job. The kids have been through so much and now it looks like I will have to put them in childcare, when I currently work when they are in school. I am applying for a school time job, closing date is friday, but I am unsure I fullfil the entire criteria, so I am just using this as a practise exercise. I don't live in a big town, so travelling to a jobcentre plus requires a car, but I may call them up and see if they can advise. Thanks.

I feel I have brain ache tonight, too much worry and form filling in. I hvae noticed my anxiety levels are getting higher, wondering if I should see the gp again about it.

I am managing to keep everything else ticking along, but these next few weeks will be telling. My parents are away for a fortnight, my bro is away for the same and lately I have been seeing more of them due to the separation. I know I can do this, I am independant, its just nice to have company and have a little help with life at times.

Its my birthday on Saturday and as i have no family around this year, I have invited some friends over for the evening, going to do a girls night in style. Will def not be AF sorry. I have also decided as of this year I am changing my birthday to the day I should have been born 26 April. I am fed up with grey, rainy, non event birthdays, no one bothers, no one has any cash to do anything and its cold. My husband, or ex husband but we arne't divorced yet, and my brother are in the summer and they always have nice weather, meaning a bbq, or a day out somewhere. In the 10 years we were together Dh never had a rainy birthday, jammy or what?

Anyway I am seriously digressing, my point is this year I shall be like the queen and have two birthdays and next year, I will start celebraing in April.........because I can!
I think that its nice to have a birthday when the sun's shining, mine's the 7th of August. Downside when I was a child was all my school friends were on holiday so I didn't see them. Good luck with your jobhunt and remember the Jobcentre these days are quite understanding, I think they realise that the Government isn't being very reasonable with real life cases. Enjoy your girls night in, do what you want to celebrate, then start again the next day. And in April, like the Queen you can have another birthday. Please promise me though, that you make the April birthday the best one ever. And I hope that by April you will find the peace inside you that we are all searching for.

41- the word you are looking for is 'better'!
Everyone else, well done and thanks. I don't know what I would've done without you guys!!!!! This is lifesaving stuff!
I went to the doctors earlier and ive been put back on my high blood pressure meds which is annoying cause I thought having stopped drinking, it would be better. I always thought it was alc related because I drank so much, but no, it's just high blood pressure. Bum. Nevermind, on the bright side I told the doctor I had stopped drinking and he immediately said 'don't worry about smoking now, give it a bit of time til you get used to it.' Which is beter than my CBT lady who said I was effectly hurting my son and I should put him first. (I don't smoke near him or in the house by the way) She's carp and im going to change her for someone who has a clue.
Anyway, today I've done a mystery shop for aldi and got a ton of lovely healthy food, inclding lots of yougurt which ive become slightly addicted to so im happy X

    Hi all,

22/27 AF for me please Shaggy and 2 SNC please Mackeroo :D

Got an anxious time coming up this weekend. Going to see my mum and talk about some childhood stuff that has NEVER been spoken about. Feeling quite sick really, as my alcohol use was all about blocking out that stuff. Don't think my mum gets that, which is why she bought me alcohol when I went there the other weekend and ignored me when I said I was AF.

Anyway, normally when I have come back from my mum's the first thing I have wanted is to pour alcohol down my throat and numb everything. I doubt very much I will do that this weekend, but going to need to find something else to help :o

10 AF nights for me this month! Best I've had since November.

Going ski-ing in less than 2 weeks which will be a boozy affair but the whole point of trying to keep myself in control of the booze was so that I could continue to have social drinks and not have to go down a 12 step programme of complete abstinence!

Once again 10 AF for me!! <-Quietly pleased!!

Thank you all and hope you all have lots of good times planned for these miserable months!

    Stupotstu!
