    Hello

Thought I'd pop in as I've been AWOL for absolutely ages. Hope everyone is well?

Finally getting a grip with jumping on the wagon, it's day 6 for me today. For some reason, after a 19 year daily heavy drinking habit (evenings only), I have not suffered any cravings, bar day one being a bit aggitated. I've had a couple of health scares over the past few months associated with alcohol which seems to have brought the stupidness of drinking to the forefront of my mind. I have just realised quite how childish it is to be taken over by a can of drink.

Still, very early days for me. Feeling great apart from the digestion problems I'm now having which is obligatory for a week or so. Sleep is AMAZING. Getting up in the morning is incredible, I can actually utter proper words and string a whole sentence together within minutes of getting up, rather than my usual mumbles before my first 3 coffees of the day.

Touch wood, it might work this time ;)

    xx

11/17 AF but no exercise, unless you count bathing a poor old dog who had an accident.

A very emotional day at work, listening to a dear friend's husbands triumph over testicular cancer. We all gave thanks to God for the outcome (I work for a Christian charity). Went to the loo and sobbed.

You'll all have seen friends/family/colleagues growing moustaches for Movember, well that chap is proof positive that research saves lives. He had a new form of treatment, that seems to have a high success rate.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

    Lovely heartwarming story satchmo. Thanks:)

I've managed another tonight. It's going to be really tight this month but I'm still hoping.

    6AF for November please Shaggy.
  • 1AF day to add for me please making 5/17 so far for November, and 2 for SNC this week.
There's absolutely no way I'm going to make my total this month, but at least I've not gone over the top on the days that I have had a drink, and this forum keeps me focussed.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Hello Jo - nice to see you again and well done of the AFness up till now.

I have no days to add as I went out for a meal last night - very nice, lovely company and not too much to drink.

I'm meant to be going out for a run soon but feel too tired! WHat a wimp.
