  • I thought your joke was really funny, GP! (but I only just read it this morning)
I'm afraid the wine monster came to dinner last night and hung around for the evening. However, I only half filled my glass (to every full glass of my partners) and I only had 4 altogether, which is a dramatic improvement on previous wine monster nights.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

No one commented on my brake fluid joke. I'm quite offended.

Lol - sorry GP. It's very funny :rotfl:

Cuppatea - I finished the wine last night - only because it wouldn't be money saving to throw it away, well, my excuse lol

I could have gone in the garage and carried on drinking, as that is where I stashed all my spirits, but not got to that stage thankfully

I think I am planning on being an occasional drinker, not sure I could give up altogether, thou saying that, the 85 days I did were not hard!

I prefer going out and remembering peoples names and conversations, and I get a lot more done around the house when I get up at the weekends, instead of lolling around the sofa all day

It is such a hard decision to make, but think I would miss the odd drink

    What a ramble....

Miss Piggy - have a lovely weekend :)

I am off dog racing with the kids tonight, then after DS's football in the morning we are off to my Grandads to do his housework and gardening! Exciting weekend lol

Hope everyone de stresses in time for the weekend :)

Right my aim tonight is NOT to drink and to get all the ironing, packing for us, the dog for the weekend sorted, and mow the grass, and attack the spreadsheet as I have not kept this up to date and I have a weeks worth of stuff to enter to this.
I also need to get to the end of this week without murdering inept workers or biting the heads off askers of stupid questions.

I may be asking for a miracle here - right time to bit tongue and not respond with "really did you just actually waste that much oxygen asking me that stupid question" which is what I really want to say!

Hi there. Can I join you. I seriously need to stop drinking. I probably drink a couple of bottles of wine a day and am hiding wine around the house to keep it from DH. He finds it and is losing patience. He has a high stress job and I 'work' from home having given up the rat race due to depression. I'm on strong anti-depressants and have spent some time as an inpatient. I've tried AA meetings, but have never really clicked with anybody to talk to - I live at the opposite end of the country from friends/family and know virtually no-body up here.

Just to be clear...I'm only going to hit 22 consecutive days on this one. I've got my big bike ride starting on June 2nd, 4 days up from Glasgow to Inverness...215 miles...carrying my tent and sleeping bag. The only thing keeping me going is the thought of a beer at the end of it on June 5th...

Drank wine last night because we had a bank holiday so today I feel a little bit tired. Planning to be alcohol free tonight though.
    Trying to keep in budget.
