Hey Crazymum! I would tentatively recommend you look at the book Potatoes Not Prozac, by K Desmaisons. She used to work with alcoholics and researched sugar sensitivity. She recommends high protein zero overt sugar for dealing with sugar sensitivity and its emotional and physical effects. HTH x

Chloris - thankyou (in advance), I have just ordered the book :D. I read the reviews on amazon and so much could have been written by me, lethargy, psoriasis, low self esteem, insomnia, depression, an incredibly sweet tooth. I often eat chocolate instead of my meals....and of course when I was drinking it was whisky and coke - so I never ate whilst I was drinking as I suppose I had the 'sugar fix'

I'm on the Dukan diet atm, it's high protein and no sugar - not even fruit and I feel so relieved to have broken the cycle and manicness which sugar seemed to bring into my life.
So I await this book with eagerness.

It's so nice to have the time and calm to read and think and examine stuff like this - by the time I'm an old lady I might have worked it all out :o

Pricey - feeling for you - the teenager breed is such a tricky one....

5 AFDS for me please shaggy. Starting to feel more normal today after an overindulgant weekend. Normally have just one bad night but had that on Friday and then was going out in town with a friend on Saturday so overindulged again-not TOO bad as was not drunk or slurring etc but got into bed at 3-very unlike me these days. it was fun though! I love dancing so it was great to a good boogie. Going to zumba tonight for a non-alcoholic way of having a good old dance! Thanks pixandmix-guess I'm doing 'ok' but which I didn't have the nights when I drink far too much wine-it makes me feel soooo sick! Well done Crazymum on all your acheivements.

1 AFD for March please Shaggy. I'm ashamed to say that until last night, the last time I was AF was 27th Feb. Since then I have regularly been pouring between 4 to 6 pints of lager down my neck a night. Not good for someone of my small frame. There were beers in the house yesterday but I sent DH out to watch the footie, as my weakness is going out to drink, and then carrying on at home. If I haven't been out then I'm not bothered. So last night I was tucked up in bed by 10 (unheared of for me) and had the most rubbish nights sleep. But I needed to do it as I'd been feeling really panicky all day. Feel tired today, but at least no hangover, no panicky feeling and no sticking of booze at work.

I am out tonight, but will see how it goes. I do intend to be AF on Weds though. Not much, but baby steps I suppose.

I'm sorry to hear that too. You can only hope that he'll see it for himself and the sooner the better.

Glad you had a good time in Hamble MissP. That's my neck of the woods, I love to take a walk along by the waterside.

Been AWOL for a few days, clebrating my birthday. Was very sensible and certainly didn't overdo things at all.

Back on the wagon tonight so

    5AFDs for March please.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
