Morning everyone, and thanks for the welcomes. Last night was not too bad, as I was in by myself. My mum did call with some bad news (nothing too serious) and ordinarily I would have had a glass of wine to cheer me up. I settled for a bath and some fresh orange juice instead. Tonight might be a bit more challenging, as I'm going out with my OH, his brother and one of the lads that works for them, but I have decided to drive to keep me on the straight and narrow.
I am also trying to come up with things I can use to treat myself when I make it through each week. I don't really want to use chocolate as I'm trying to get healthy, and I'm already substituting wine for smoothie drinks in the evening. I was considering buying myself books. I would normally drink easily 2 bottles of wine mid-week, costing £10, so £7-£8 on a book seems like a good deal, and it is something I never normally buy for myself.:A If saving money is wrong, I don't want to be right. Thanks Tracy - I have checked and my local library is open office hours only, which is not very helpful when I work office hours. But to be honest I probably won't read one book each week, I will just decide to buy myself a new one each time I finish one. I love reading too, but I've not done so much recently cos I've been spending way too much time in the pub, or drinking wine watching tv, but that is all changing.:A If saving money is wrong, I don't want to be right. Sorry I've been AWOL, just seem to have been so busy with BabyR!!
I've had a quick scan through the thread and see we've got some newbies. A BIG WELCOME to all of you, and good luck with your own AF journeys.
Update from the Rainman household, February challenge was a complete failure, to the extent that he had to lie to work one saturday night when he had a phone call to go in (he was on call) and then had a complete hissy fit when I wouldn't back him up. So we're back to square 1 and I really don't know what else I can try to make him see the damage he is doing to himself and his family.
MissP - I'm dreading playground politics when BabyR goes to school. I hate confrontation and really can't stand the whole cliqueness. I live opposite a primary school and regularly see groups standing outside for ages once they've dropped the children off.
Bearacus - Are you going somewhere nice??
