  • Hi everyone, haven't posted much this week as I've been really busy. Found it much harder this week to be AF & have identified one of my triggers is hunger. I'm dieting, another -2lbs this week.:j

Was really pleased yesterday, really wanted some wine & had my coat on to go & buy it; when I realized I was hungry. Ate some fresh pineapple and the urge passed. Is it possible to get addicted to healthy foodstuff ?
    I'm beginning to look like a pineapple!!:D

Bearacus good vibes to your mum on her path to recovery.

Good luck to everyone having medical tests.

Hugs to all that need them.

Keep warm & have a good weekend.
Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life!

MrsR, Sorry to hear about your hand but I think MrR is doing really well. I don't know about your circumstances but surely the minimum of £100 saved must be good motivation. Hopefully, he can just stick to beer but if not why not suggest he buys (e.g.3) bottles of wine at the beginning of the week and only drinks them in an 'emergency'. He could do the same with however much beer he plans to get through. I do something similar in that I buy wine for the weekend but only exactly what I'm allowing myself so when it's gone it's gone. It's almost like a game with myself to make it last. I know I could go to the shop for more but I find it helps me to discipline myself.

Peterbunny, I find that the thought of the extra calories is also a good deterrent for me.

I know money and calories aren't probably the best reasons for cutting down but it motivates me more than thinking about units etc.;)

Ouch Mrs R that sounds really painful _pale_ And well done to Mr R

Good news about Piglet's temperature - sounds like he'll soon be on the mend.

Interview went OK - I always worry in advance then find there's nothing to worry about :D

Buns and Vimto on me today - one month alcohol free :j:j:j Acute almost permanent indigestion - gone, dreariness - gone, cash in pocket - lots. Sleeping better than I did to start with and confident it will improve.

Won't be drinking to celebrate so that will be 10 AFD for February please Shaggy

  • Hello,

I haven't been on for ages but have slipped back into bad habits so could do with being part of the group.

AF since Sunday. Not sure what the future holds.

    GG
  • :T:T:T Well done lizzyb :j so pleased to hear you're feeling so good as well....it's giving me hope.
I'm still feeling pants... sleeping is terrible - can't seem to make it through 3 hours without waking - I am soooo tired during the day. Sure it will pass. Blood tests went off today - dr thinks I'm too young for it to be the menopause, probably just a winter virus that will disappear before long.

This evening I was ready to fight the world, drink all the whisky and smoke everything..... so I sat down with a cuppa tea and thought calm thoughts :A until the feeling passed.
(46 AFD, 16 days smoke free :) - and feeling good )

Rachel - just like Bearacus says - hoping everything is ok.... (((hugs)))

Hope everyone's having a good evening.

10 AFD please Shaggy - thankyou.

and Maman - I totally agree with you, I think a lot of women are motivated by the calories and money rather than the units - as long as it ends up in decreased consumption it's all good :)

antonic's post put me in mind of this. I believe it's called the Serenity prayer. Don't want to get heavy and preachy but wise words all the same.

:T to Master Cleggie (and his mum of course;))

    Have a good day all.

  • Crazymum I think you're doing fantastically well! to give up alcohol and fags takes some determination and guts!!:j

I went out for a meal last night and only had 1 glass of wine!!
On the way home the bells started ringing really loudly; I REALLY WANTED A BOTTLE OF WINE!!!!!!

I drove past the off license, came home, had a low calorie hot chocolate, read my book and went to bed.:)

Perhaps I am winning the battle.

Off to try and make a 50 length swim.:A
    Have a good weekend everyone
