Hi everyone-I'm back from my ski hols and back on the wagon-didn't go too mad though-staying in a chalet with lots of families so was careful not to drink so much that I felt ashamed to meet anyone's eye at breakfast! I did enjoy my lunchtime gluwein though but won't be carrying it on back home! I'm going to set my af days for February for 18 please shaggy with 1 afd day under my belt. Could I join the snc this week as well please bearacus-4 for the snc this week please. going to try and catch up with the thread!

    Good evening all

    4 please Shaggy

Could I go for full monty on SNC please Bearacus?

crazymum - whoever sent that email needs to belt up. Don't let them get to you.

gardenanna - your comment got to me about starting to figure out who you are again. Thats exactly how I feel. Sometimes I wonder where "me" has gone. Guess I just have to work on finding me again!

Funny old day here. Piglet poorly and Im still feeling awful so I took us both off to the doctor today. We both have a mild tonsilitis bug (amazing seeing as I haven't got any tonsils - but apparently my throat is inflamed). She hasn't precribed anything, just paracetamol, fluids etc. Hoping to feel better soon.

    Miss P

As some of you may know I am in the process of training to be a counsellor. Hopefully eventually specialising in drug and alcohol. The following is an exercise that may help you 'find your way' !

You have to find a quite place and close your eyes and visualise yourself walking down a road. As you walk try to notice some things about the road...do you recognise it? Is it bendy or straight? don't try too hard just wander down the road until you come to a house that stands out for you. Notice the house, textures, colours, styles, what does it remind you of?, how do you feel again don't try too hard.....go into the house and again notice the interior.......make a mental note........eventually you are going to find a secret room....notice where you find the entrance. Enter the room and again notice what you feel, see, hear etc.

Open your eyes and make a note of the three settings; road, house, secret room.

I'll tell you what they mean tomorrow!!!

My best friend's husband told me that he hopes I'll come to my senses soon 'cos he doesn't trust people who can't enjoy a drink. Fortunately she told him what an idiot he sounded but it did make me panic that people will think I'm no fun any more.

Let me guess. Best friends husband is a heavy drinker?

    Hi All - Monday again....such joy!! :o

Two more AFD's for me (Sunday and tonight) so I'm now on 4 AFD's please shaggy. Could I pledge just 3 for this weeks challenge please bearacus.

It's really strange how people change towards you once you stop drinking. I get told I'm boring these days and that I've lost my sense of fun....it'd be true to say that I no longer make a complete @rse of myself on nights out but I can still party into the early hours with the best of them, the difference is that I have a clear head in the morning and no embarrassing flash backs to contend with. Strangely it's social drinking that I've found easiest to stop, I still enjoy a drink in the peace and quiet of my home at the weekends but really don't miss the steady flow of alcohol on an evening out.

365 - I'll be taking a trip down 'the road' a bit later this evening, I'm intrigued to find out what it all means tomorrow.

  • Evening everyone

365~I'll do that once in bed tonight :D

4 for the SNC please Bearacus. One done tonight :j

I haven't made a target for Feb, but can we count anyway? 3 please Shaggy :)

I had wine Fri/Sat and Sun. Why? No idea really. When I poured the first glass on Friday, it was quite late on. I was tired and should have gone to bed  Should have been saying HALT to myself. On Saturday, I was feeling a bit stressed about all the things I had to do on Sunday, so had a drink. On Sunday, there was half a bottle of wine in the fridge, my jobs were done and it helped me chill out. Oh well!

Feel fine tonight, no bells. Off to watch the Queen.

    Night night all X
    Need to start again :o

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
