    Sorry Bramble x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Sorry to hear your news Bramble.

  • So sorry to hear your sad news Bramble :(

I was MIA yesterday as I had a very lazy morning and then went to lunch with MrS and the parents. It was their treat and we had a lovely three course meal in front of a roaring fire and had a really nice time.

I can't think that I did anything OS yesterday as when we got back I sat and played on the X Box while MrS had a snooze in front of the TV.

I had lots of pain yesterday and a fair amount today which I think is down to doing very little and getting myself all stiff. As much as I've loved the break with MrS, I'll be glad to get back into a routine.

Today has been a little more OS; Washing machine and Dishwasher have been on and we've had a wander around town to get the few bits that we need. Chickens are fed and watered and could do with a proper clean out but it's chucking it down with rain now and I'd rather wait until tomorrow. I will go out and pressure wash the yard shortly as I'll get filthy and wet doing it anyway so rain won't make a difference! They've not been laying so well these past few days, I've only had one egg per day, where usually I get two or three and I know that all four of them are capable.

I've finally found a chemist who's agreed to put my meds into blister packs for each time of the day. I've heard mixed reviews about whether they manage to get them right but we'll see. Most of the time I'm more than capable of getting them right but I've had two instances of taking the wrong drugs; one where I took 15mg of Morphine instead of an Anti-Depressant every day for a week and one where I took too many sleeping tablets for a few days - neither a very clever idea!

Our house is relatively Christmas free now as everything is packed up and waiting to go back into the loft. We don't celebrate NYE so it's all over for us now - just a few more days before we're back at work.

MrS and I have been debating cars today. We have 4 options:
    1. Get a mobility car through DLA,
    2. Keep the cars we have
    3. Get rid of my car
    4. Trade mine in and get a smaller one which will be cheaper to run.
My car costs me just over £25 a week to run so it doesn't seem worth getting a mobility car unless I end up in a wheelchair. It does need around £400 of repairs this year before the MOT but it is under warranty still for another 2 years for anything major. If I swap my car for something smaller it will save us around £10 per week in petrol and maintainance but will cost us around £2k to change them over so I'm not sure it's worth it. Selling my car would give us around £3k in cash and would save me £25pw which woul potentially pay for taxis (I get a free bus pass and access to hospital transport) if I needed to go somewhere and didn't have access to MrS car. He thinks it's silly to get rid of the car when I may well use it but I think it's a waste when it sits still for so long. I could take him to work and pick him up if I have hospital visits etc but he thinks the early starts will be too much for me. So now I don't know what to do! More thought required I think!

Breakfast toay didn't happen and lunch was chips and bread. Dinner will be potato and chick pea curry with some flatbreads I think.

Abel and Cole have deliverd today and amongst my regular items (spuds, onions, apples, bananas) I have a celeriac, some salad items and a cabbage - meal planning is required I think. Having a Veg box delivered each week isn't strictly MS and definately isn't OS, but I do find it super convenient and the produce is fab. I suppose it is MS in so much as I don't visit the SM as much as I used to as I can have Milk, Cheese, Yoghurt, and other groceries delivered each week, reducing impulse buys and ensuring I only buy what I need.

Sorry to hear of your Grandad passing Bramble, he is at peace now. Lots of hugs to you.
Lou - try to sit down and talk to your OH.
Rainy Days - What time did you get up?! You have made me feel totally inadequate!!

Slow start here today, didn't sleep too well during the night and then must have nodded off and didn't wake till 9. Have put a wash on which will have to go on the airers as it's still raining here.

Started to make my door curtain, nearly finished. I certainly wont be getting any points for my sewing skills but it has only cost £2 for the material so very OS. Will go tomorrow to get a curtain pole (the expensive bit) as the one I have wont be strong enough - the material is quite heavy and the lining material was included in the price!

DD at work so will cook salmon later, had lo tuna pasta for lunch.

    Take care. XX

Yes I kept thinking the same when DG stayed the other night in Croughton - near to me x

Rubbish day:(:(:( Weather has been grey and cold/ windy for a few days now. Just had a huge bust up with our eldest son and just dont know what to do. I keep saying I cant take anymore but it still keeps happening.

My washing machine is broken or well and truly mullered according to the engineer. It will be fixed in a weeks time and I can just use it for the odd wash of work clothes.

Planning on getting back to OS asap. Im going on a retreat second week of January so hopefully will be able to formulate more of a plan. In the meantime I plan to make my Mum a cake for her birthday.

Hugs and of course and extra one to Bramble xx

    Evening all

Bramble - so sorry to hear your sad news

Well been reading everyday but havent been posting again - sorry! - not been too well over christmas or since.

Christmas was fairly low key but seemed to be really hard work this year - finally caught up with the washing and ironing generate by having guests for 3 days. Just need to do a good clean through tomorrow now then all set for the New Year. That looks as though it will be a fairly quiet celebration too, DD1 pregnant so not wanting to go to out really, DD2 has the dreaded chest infection and my doctor has put me on another 2 lots of antibiotics and painkillers this afternoon, and one of the antibiotics you cant have alcohol with so think we might all be giving the local a miss this year lol. Oh well will def be money saving!:D

I have been cooking and freezing left overs so as not to waste anything - lots of easy meals for when I return to work! I have alot of shop bought mince pies which one of the guests brought - not sure if they can be frozen? My secret santa pressie from work was a basket of gluten free goodies, so have frozen these to stop me eating them all at once - will take to work as part of packed lunches daily in January (and maybe even February lol)

Hope you all have a good evening

Well i've done our food shop today, cleaned kitchen, put some clothes away, and put some washes on, Oh and the bathroom is clean too. Made a start on the living room but think i will make a plan for tomorrow and call it a day.

Funeral is the 9th so need to work out if OH wants/can come and find someone to watch over pup, and work out if we're going to fly/drive/get train.

Dinner tonight - not sure, will see what OH fancies.

Oh and my TTOM arrived! PHEW. because that had been a BIG worry too, as was a couple of weeks late... so i can relax about that now too.

Might stick a movie on and go on my exercise bike for a while...

Hugs to all who need them, esp Lou

Rainy Days - What time did you get up?! You have made me feel totally inadequate!!

It was about 9.30am, but I was solid at the housework for four and a bit hours. I do feel a bit on the knackered side of things - maybe I just cannot go at stuff like I used to. DH helped he walked the dogs and sorted the horses so that saved me about 90 minutes! I don't have children though Camelot so I guess that is where I gain somewhat. Once I have done the vacuuming then I just get my head around getting the rest finished off. I have a list and as I have done one task, I go and cross it off and seeing the jobs come down gives me the motivation to keep on with it!
