Morning all
Hester - I got rid of my books a few years back as I needed money to go to Camp America and at that time books were selling at ok prices on ebay/amazon etc. I've not bought a 'new' book since then. I did buy them from car boots etc occasionally, or my friend gave me ones she had finished with. I just used the librar, but now I have my Kindleand still haven't paid for a book yet!
House sharing is the most stressful living arrangement (aside from the obvious being homeless) I look forward to graduating and living a simpler life where there are not five different ways of doing things all competing.
adelight - I know what you mean about it being stressful at times. 95% of the time my flatmate is great but she getting on my wick at the moment. She has a big thing about not using lots of electricity so will turn off lights even if I'm doing work in lounge and need them on. Yet she puts the DW on half ful and leaves her laptop and netbook and PC running 24 hours a day! And she never recycles or empties the bin! I'm looking forward to living on my own again soon! But I have enjoyed sharing.
Still grey and wet here, but much less windy. I had crap sleep last night but I am feeling better today. Hopefully I will get some uni work done today.
Tonight I'm going on a double blind-ish dateI don't know either guy, but have seen one of them. I'm going with my schoolfriend/colleague and it's more of a test run cos she has never had a proper date before and apparently I agreed to a trail run double date! It should be fun though, or something to entertain you lot with tomorrow :rotfl:
OS wise - Not much needed. I may pack another box or two. I'm eating out tonight so lunch will probably be HM soup I made yday.
Have a great day all

Waiting for @sda delivery....and I need a wee but I know as soon as I sit down it will arrive
DS's kept DD for a sleep over last night so me and DH had a nice night, stayed in and enjoyed the peace and freedom. She's back today and DH's 2 are back from their mums tomorrow so it will be back to bedlam soon enough.
DW is done, Kitchen has been wiped, floor swept and I'm going to straighten the lounge next.
Weather is miserable here so no plans to leave the house. Carbonara for dinner - it's a slimming world recipe.....I'm going to see if DH notices....
Have a good day xClimbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness

Morning All,
Much better sleep for me last night and I think the cold is on its way out so much happier today.
Have already showered and washed my hair (a mammoth task it takes ages to dry and straighten) DH is on his way home and DS3 is at the barbers. The three of us are off into town today. DS3 wants to buy some bits with his Christmas money. DH and I need to go to the bank and post office.
We will probably have lunch, going to have a look if there are any vouchers around.
I have a book about what to grow every month of the year so going to dig that out later.
I also need to decide on a cake to take to our friends tomorrow night, might try something out of the Mary Berry book I got for Christmas.
Next week we are going to start the great declutter and either sell, throw or give to charity anything we don't want to ship to Australia. There a couple of jobs to do on the house and then it will go on the market. The loft alone will take ages so just need to get on then the actual packing of the container wont be too bad.
It's going to be an exciting but emotional year. I love change though and am looking forward to it.
Anyway enough waffle, hugs for those in need, have a good day all J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Good Morning All!
Still in shock after DH bought me the Macbook Pro yesterday! I've wanted one for ages, but didn't think it would be possible until the end of next year! Am actually on old PC at the moment tho as I need to get used to the different operating system. This one has a damaged lid and back so won't close, overheats very quickly and is slower than a traffic jam on the M25 despite frequent defragging, so I am really looking forward to getting to grips with my new "baby!"!
DS has suddenly gone into major depression mode ( for no obvious reason) so no idea when/if he'll surface today. We've been lucky for the past week as apart from being monosyllabic he's been reasonably OK. last evening was back to walking on eggshells! Fingers crossed the mood will swing the other way quickly.
Lunch will be ham and salad stuff, tonight probably bangers and mash! Loads of gammon left so will slice it all up later today and freeze in useable packets. Treated myself to new bedding set in the sale this morning (very much needed, so not a luxury!). Am just running it all through the WM now.
Oh well, need to pop out to the shops for just one or two bits.
Take care all of you.Resolution:

Morning!
Popped into Lidl's yesterday. Would like to go more often but have to balance the fuel used to get there with the savings made. Anyway, we were passing the door so enjoyed a visit. There were some really lovely gammon joints for less than £2 so bought three of them. One is in the SC as we speak and the others in the freezer. Also Lurpak on offer. Yum - I'd rather have a little bit of butter than lashings of pseudo stuff.
Cleared out the understair cupboard - a job I've been putting off for ages. I did the kichen timer thing and within 45 minutes everything had come out, the cupboard cleaned, contents decluttered and everything put back neatly. Keep opening the door to enjoy the sight.:j
Now the diningroom. No chance of that being sorted in 45 minutes. 45 days maybe.:D
JulieG: I look at my house and think that I could well do a bit of nesting - unfortunately nature isn't giving me a helping hand.
Lou: I think I heard that naughty word again - sorry.
I agree with Cranky. How about you developing a friendship with one of his male friends and suddenly leaving him for the day and going off to have meaningful conversations and a bit of flirting. I very much hold the view that what's sauce for the goose............ See how he likes it.
I don't mean you to actually do it, but if you put it to him that if you did that you would only be following his example, he might think about it more carefully.
The rest of today will be devoted to the Church Magazine, due out tomorrow and only 25% done.:eek::eek::eek::eek:I believe that friends are quiet angels

Didn't manage to get online yesterday, internet was playing up.
My gdad passed away this morningI'm okay, feel a bit numb. Have cancelled my meal out tonight as don't feel like going.
Started my 2012 budget this morning, and bought 4 presents ahead for next year. Treated myself to a cake decorating book with a JL voucher.

Bramble..Sorry to hear about your Grandad ((((((Hugs))))))
My morning has been taken up with yet more washing and as the weather is dire I have it all on airers, the last load is on now.
I want to stock take the freezers and cupboards today to see exactly what I have in there, I need to get the turkey out for New Year's day anyhow, then I will make some meal plans up.
I have started a new spending spreadsheet on Excel and will put everything that I buy on there daily so I can see where the money is going to.
I have also done a spreadsheet on the things that I normally buy to keep an eye on prices too.
Welcome newbies
Well I am off to do DH and DS some lunch xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
