    2 consecutive NSD's so total is 9/15

Have been confusing myself, as counting when I spend using card but then have also been counting them as a spend when shown on account! :o:eek:

I hope I'm not speaking too soon but focusing on NSDs is clearly working for me at the moment and I think it's because it's taken the panic away from keeping to a budget, driving ever more economically, ensuring that we are all fed while on the move (endless packed lunches and suppers), getting the mobile costs down, losing weight... and put my attention on the challenge of only spending once a week. Does that make sense?

It makes total sense Broomstick - when I started doing NSDs I was astounded at the amount of "mindless" spends I had. It really made me focus too, and now I hate "spoiling" a potential NSD!
    Things I've changed are:

    1. Trying to have one day where I do the grocery shop, put the money for the following week's fares/zumba/ window cleaner/ church collection aside. This is usually a Thursday.
    2. Buying longlife milk ( I use this! OH hates it :() so that I have a stock, having bread in the freezer - usually whoopsies ( thanks Cheryl)
    3. Packed lunches
    4. Following the" cook once eat twice" rule, i.e. whenever I make soup, stews, chilli, bolognese, I cook double and freeze half. That way I dont buy ready meals like I used to as I always have something to hand.

Like you, I revised all my monthly spends to ( and still do) to make sure I get the best deal where possible.
It can sometimes be a challenge, but very satisfying! The way things are with the economy just now, its hard just to stay ahead of the game!
    Good luck!:)

Jinty~ I so agree with what you said.
Hope you got to your target.

Ok so what I thought was NSD8 last week ended up not being so due to DS so I am on NSD7 still. No chance now of getting 12 in the month but if I really put my mind to it I'm hoping for 11.
Spend less now, work less later.

I'm actually a bit concerned that the payment hasn't gone yet, as I'm sure it's been debited on the 'we will take payment on or shortly after' date in previous years !! If it's not gone by the time I check my account on Friday morning I'll have to phone them to try and find out what's going on..... last thing I want is to have a problem with the car away from home and find that I'm not covered for some reason

Thanks Cheryl - I tried to pay mine online last Sat (spendy day) but it didn't direct me to the card authentication site so wasn't sure if it had/hadn't. Phoned & they said they'd check in a couple of days & got a message on my answer phone it hadn't gone through on Tues & have forgotten to try again - will do that tomorrow (if spendy day) or Sat (def spendy day!)
:j:j:jrising - well done for no 14. One more to get now, you can do it!
Yay to your 4 in a row, a prizelet is heading your way now for that.
Sorry you’re still dog-less... the right dog is out there waiting for you somewhere, you’ll meet up when the time is right for both of you x

    Thanks Spoon ..... love prizes:D

    Guess what .... No 15 & target & 5 in a row today!:j

Sad about doglet but I need to find the right one - s/he is out there waiting ..... (hope it's soon).

Having pooter issues so if I disappear - that's why.

Laptop is asking for ISP authentication ID/password - it's automatically filled in (chose the "remember me" option) but isn't accepting it . Upstairs pooter (where I am) isn't in the best of health ..... (rarely used now). The strange thing is that it also asked for the ID/password, also on automatic remember .... but it worked :(

Had to tip my emergency fuel can into the car tonight (5 litres) as didn't make it to the fuel station yesterday (18 mile round trip) - thankfully refilled after the last similar occurrence. I find it quite handy as it's a pain in the behind having to make the trek just for fuel. That should see me to work/back tomorrow & the sm on Sat....

Hoorah! I made it, have hit my 15 NSD target, feeling very chuffed :) Might spend tomorrow or Saturday as I'm going out with OH on Saturday and will combine fruit and veg shopping with going out spends, not that I have any money...ho hum...hope OH is feeling flusher than me!
