  • Today was looking so good-no spends at all, then I checked my account online and have had a DD.Much gnashing of teeth....I might just make it this month nevertheless.

Spend day tomorrow as taking 'wee minxie' (the cat) for her vaccinations which will entail a taxi ride there and back.I'll also get some veg for soup as well. That should be it.

spoon thanks! The day I manage 25 is the days that pigs are seen flying about...

jinty good for you for standing up for yourself. And well done on the continued weight loss.

Hope the car starts tomorrow, it thinks it's being weaned.
  • Spendy day for me today. I put a tenner towards a takeaway and a couple of bottles of cider for dinner tonight. ds was sent home ill from nursery and OH had him all afternoon then when I got home he was all cuddly so I couldn't get out to kitchen to make dinner or be flylady.
But it's been a nice night sitting here snuggling him. Bless..

It makes total sense Broomstick - when I started doing NSDs I was astounded at the amount of "mindless" spends I had. It really made me focus too, and now I hate "spoiling" a potential NSD!
    Things I've changed are:

    1. Trying to have one day where I do the grocery shop, put the money for the following week's fares/zumba/ window cleaner/ church collection aside. This is usually a Thursday.
    2. Buying longlife milk ( I use this! OH hates it :() so that I have a stock, having bread in the freezer - usually whoopsies ( thanks Cheryl)
    3. Packed lunches
    4. Following the" cook once eat twice" rule, i.e. whenever I make soup, stews, chilli, bolognese, I cook double and freeze half. That way I dont buy ready meals like I used to as I always have something to hand.

    .
It can sometimes be a challenge, but very satisfying! The way things are with the economy just now, its hard just to stay ahead of the game!

I concur Jinty, I joined this challenge becuase, after keeping a spending diary I realised just how many 'essential' £1/£2 spends I was making (esp working in town) so now I try to keep a list and shop less often, it also gives me a day or so to think if I 'really' need x/y/z. Mr T's glitches and couponing has made things a little more challenging for me but overall I think they have been positive for my budget....

speaking of which, no NSD for me today but that was expected, Colin's got threaded for £5, and then I popped into the 99p shop
    • 3 x tins of spaghetti numbers (OH is such a big kid)
    • jalapenos
    • 2 x 12 pack Vege Oxo cubes (BB 2013)
    • twin pack of party rings (cos I'm a big kid too :D)
I picked up another bottle of Comfort Pure in Wilkos for 23p (using coupon) eerrrrr, cos I haven't got enough :o, and I WAS going to get some Fairy Plat dishwasher tabs from Saver$ I'd spied earlier in the week. 30 for £3.99....except when I went in today they've put the price up to £4.29  since I do have some tabs 'in stock' already I left them, wasn't paying an extra 30p - I'll wait for them to go down or another offer.

Whoooo Friday tomorrow :j *to the tune of a well known song by PJ and Duncan* .... 'lets get ready to wiggle, lets get ready to wiiigggllleee, get readdy, get steaddy to WIGGLE' :rotfl::rotfl:

  • Woohoo I made it!! NSD #15 for me today please! Feeling a bit more positive today, got some jobs lined up to apply for. My OH pointed out that I might as well go for it - even though I'm not sure what I do want to do, I know that I very definitely don't want to make a career where I'm working now.
