    February NSD challenge 5/15
  • Hey everyone,

I am relatively new as some of you know but I just wanted to say how useful I am finding being on here! I love the thread and actually having NSD's really makes you think about what you are spending and why...which is something that I haven't really done before. Anyway, pay day is Friday and we are WELL within budget!!:j woohoo!!! :money:

Anyway I have been meaning to post all week but work has been manic and I have hardly had time to draw breath let alone spend 10 minutes on my favourite forum! :). On the plus side though Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday were NSD days becaue I haven't had time to spend anything.

    4 NSD Days in a row = 11/12:j:j:j

Has a lovely day today...I decided to leave the coal face for the afternoon and OH and I went for out for a meal which for a starter and main course each cost us £7.20 as we had £20 in T*sco vouchers. Then we went for a coffee in McD and paid with two full token cards :D. OH is amused by how pleased I am!!! Ok it does border on sad I know....;)

I have just had a quick catch up and would like to say:
Jinty - I hope that you enjoy your kindle as much I love my e-reader
Rising - Apologies becasue I have only read the last four pages, so I am not sure what your course is for? But I wanted to point out that in some areas private foundations will fund courses and it may be worth asking around. Again sorry if it doesn't help.
Beanie-lou -I know whaty your mean about struggling to eat well I have been really good since New Year but had to fight the chocolate cravings once the stress kicked in last week.
Kerry-gt - your post made me laugh. I think if my..erm *smalls* blew away I would be to embarrased to fetch them !!:rotfl:

Right, I am in work early tomorrow so I had best get myself organised.
    Good night all

  • Thanks Beanie ... I'm having to do it the long hard slog way! (being self funding it worked out cheaper to do it in stages where I could get a formal qualification at the end of each bit & have a break, rather than jumping straight into the degree). The OU is great but unfortunately hideously expensive and just not poss for me to find that much money at once - it worked out much more expensive than doing it the way I'm doing it.

I started with an HNC Management which then gave partial exceptions to the HND Business - which I finished a few months ago:D.

Have several options for the degree - could either do Management, various Business options (eg Business Studies, Business Admin etc) or with a related subject (eg Business with HR etc).

I was looking at doing Business Information Systems - but unfortunately think I may struggle with some of the more technical IT bits now that the secondment I was on which was closely related to that field has finished:(.

I'd love to do Project Management (which was part of my HND) but you need to go on placement for a year so not poss.....

Jeezzzzzzz sorry for the moan!:o I will get there one of these days .... must keep entering the David !!!!!!*inson comp to try to get the funds!:)

I feel your pain. One of the reasons we built up so much debt was my going back to study as a mature student at college and university for 5 years whilst having children to care for as well.
It is worth the effort though. I know that when we finally clear this mountain of debt life will be less of a struggle for the effort.

Do I take it that you have managed to sneak in another birthday without telling us?

Right-o gang, everyone round to Cheryl's place for a birthday bumpathon!
It's not until tomorrow (Monday) :D

GD3 is actually due on Tuesday, but I've informed DD she's to have this one a day early ;) GD1 was late and GD2 was bang on time - so by my reckoning that means DD's due to have one early anyway :rotfl:

  • Hi lovely gang:A

:j:j:jJCG - well done for no 11, only a few more to get now, you can do it!
Are you going to the brass band competition in Skegness?:)

Wow Spoony have you been doing research on brass banding?! :rotfl:

No I wasn't there, never been as it's so close to Christmas I doubt I would ever have the money. Used to frequent the Prestatyn one in my day tho ;) lots of people I know were there tho, probably all very drunk as is the tradition with us banders!

Had family visiting this weekend so spent on Sat on some food, Fri NSD 12, today NSD 13 :jthink I'll get my target this month even after a wobbly start!

Feeling very glum about my weight after this weekend tho, need to get a grip and get myself back on it!! Gym today and hopefully tomorrow!

No, I haven't JCG and I'm not stalking you, honest:D. I happened to hear someone on the radio on Friday talking about the competition and read that you weren't going to be around this weeked so put two and two together and got six:D:D.

I know a bit about the brass band life though, OH's friend is in one so I've heard some tales. My niece is also in one though, at 13, she's probably a bit young to have been led that far astray:D

Glad you had a good weekend though, nonetheless:)
:) The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time :)
