Hey Red, dont beat yourself up :naughty: - there's not one of us on here that hasnt done something they could kick themselves for afterwards!

Hi Jinty, you're so right. I've been kicking myself since about 2.00am this morning, right after making an online order for meat! of all things, from the DR butchers site. It would never have happened if I hadn't had a drink. That's why I rarely drink, always end up doing something stupid. :o

    Hugs to all.

  • we're all on DFW for one of two reasons - the first is to get out of debt caused by the kind of thing you posted above, the second is to stay out of debt caused by the kind of thing you posted above. I think there's a pattern there somewhere...

Believe me it's just as hard not to slip back ..... honestly, I've never budgeted before (never had the money to put any aside each month as it was always paying what was the most urgent bill) and then ended up either borrowing more to pay for everyday things like a car service or not paying a bill that month.

Although they've now gone :) I still have a very tight budget (debts paid from 2nd job - now gone thankfully, and E*bay etc) so it's still bloomin' hard work.

The support from everyone here is fantastic and really helps keep me on track :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

    Hi folks,

Thanks to all of you for the support and kind words. As I said earlier, the most annoying thing is that I wasn't even sure I wanted the card, but decided I'd buy a new computer earlier than planned with someone elses money! At times I do wonder if I've learnt anything, but at least now I've realised this, I'll keep my guard up. It would be so easy to go back down the road I was on before and I couldn't deal with that again, so I think I'll just save for the computer as planned and that will also add to the sense of achievement.

If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

Me just having a brief sit down before I get going again, been up, stripped bed and put washing out to dry today (according to OH our sheets nearly ended up in next doors garden had he not rescued them - thank goodness it wasn't my (not so)smalls ), did a wee shop at Mr A and made shepherds pie for dinner - nom nom nom (had to double check recipie in my cookbook as haven't made it for ages - most used cookbook being one my mum bought me for uni over 10yrs ago now :rotfl:)

Also got a mini shepherds pie portion for the freezer and a little left over (planned chicken casserole for dinner tomorrow and fajitas on Tues for OH b'day)

Managed to get my Mr A shop from £37 to £17 with APG :j (all wombled :D) and wombeld another 20 receipts, another 2 to check tomorrow but 'made' £15 across 9 receipts already.

Rising - sorry, not a penny on the lotto last night :( will keep you posted for Wed though x

Red - as the others have said, don't beat yourself up too much, at least you realise that you regret the applications, which is a positive.

Jinty - well done on the fleabaying, hope you enjoy your kindle

Not sure if I'm couting today as a NSD or not - depends were I take the grocery money from - given that both the household and my personal grocery allowance are both at big fat zero this month I'm not sure where the pennies will be allocated from...and thanks for the offer of the rancid kippers Spoony but dinner tomorrow is planned already :rotfl:

Right, ironing to do and sarnie to make for tomorrow - does it never stop?

Red - i reckon it's like anything else, no matter how much we learn it's easier to slip back into old patterns at certain times, it doesn't mean you haven't learnt anything, just that this has been a new learning experience, good on you for picking up on it & good luck saving for that computer!!
