Go into user CP and then you can edit it.Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

I am fairly spendthrift but one thing I won't skimp on are books.
Education is likely to pay dividends in the long run. It's going to be easier to get that job in career field X if you read books on career field X, almost certainly.
And if you 'only' make a £500 pa salary jump, you've probably paid for all the books in a few months.
All about the cost benefit analysis - I could live without Internet for example, but it'd probably cost me more in not knowing the best deals. I wouldn't have known of 3% savings accounts without web searches - those pay for the internet bill on their own.Said Aristippus, “If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.”

As far as books go, i hit the library as my first stop.
To answer the question, yes, i could do this. I wouldn't necessarily like it, but i could do it.
Do it for a year? Yeah i think so. Do it for a lifetime? No probably not.
2012 is a big save for the gf & I as we need 40% deposit for a house. We can do it but we need to save hard.
I'm a tightwad & a miserable git, so it certainly helps. If i had a large circle of friends it'd be much more difficult, but i don't so it's easier.
We have an aim (the house) and it's a pretty important aim rather than a small aim such as saving for an iPhone which is minor. So due to this, everything will need to get dropped.
The sacrifices should hopefully be well worth it & that should act as the motivation. Keep the eyes on the prize.0 -

The forum on RiSi is really friendly too, I used to be a regular and after a while they felt like my family. It's not a site that suits everyone but I'd say give it a try if you like the ideaThank you competition posters!

I'm not really specifically talking about textbooks though.
I've learned lots from all sorts of non-fiction books - biographies of people in certain careers, for example.Said Aristippus, “If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.”
