Inspiring post officeguru :T
(I think your dieting life revolves around your wardrobe :rotfl:)
Tomorrow I'm going to look out something that's too small to hang on my wardrobe, probably jeans...I really want to lose a dress size this challenge.
Oh the torture...DS finally got home from work, and I made him bacon and eggs, I can still smell it :rotfl:I know, I'm too soft, but he works hard
'Evening, Ellie,
Maybe it doesAll my brothers and sister are 6' tall and hardly an inch of fat... Brothers have plenty of muscle... I was the only wee fat one..:( Nothing looked good on me... my sister looked gorgeous in a sack !!!
But I am either altering clothes down the way or putting them in the charity box so I don't have anything in a larger size than I am at the moment... So, hopefully, one day I'll just have small sizes in the end... :beer:0 -
Another tip for the list og is to put a photo of yourself at your heaviest on the fridge door. It's stopped me going there many times, and when I look at it now I feel really embarrassed I looked like that not so long ago. It's also brought some very surprised remarks when other people see it0

Two were perfect and I had such a job deciding which would be right I had to get them bothBut it's eating that's really getting me down, I just can't stop eating. My meals are good and healthy lots of fresh foods, salad and fruit, but I just ruin it all with my eating in between, crisps chocolate whatever I can find, normally in secret. I know what I should be doing, I know how to do it, I just can't control the compulsive eating.
and just buy things I don't like, for DH, e.g the puff pastry biscs with the jammy centres. I'm going to buy low fat/ low cal snacks just for myself - mini bags of salty sweet popcorn etc., and hope it makes a difference. Also if I can keep my hands busy with knitting/ crochet, I can't eat messy chocolate etc.
Chin up, pet, we're all here for you
My 3 reasons:
1. To stop my knees and hips from hurting.
2. To look like my (almost) 55 years instead of older - even with grey hair!
3. To be able to wear a dress and not look like a sack tied around the middle.
Oh, ....:T:T:T:T Well done rhcp :T:T:T:T
B- 2 Weetabix with a banana and honey and milk
Snack at garden centre - fruit scone with jam
L- salad and a biscuit - when they're gone, they're gone!
D- left over Sunday dinner, small ice cream
S- toast and a cupcake
Lots of water and only 3 cups of tea
E- walking around Garden Centre, hanging washing out, pulling weeds out for about an hour this afternoon.2025 Fashion on the ration

Naughty me. Couldnt stop snacking on biscuits today. Think I munched another 6 over two sittings.
I do however, have some photos I am dying to post, and also what I hope will be useful tips for the newbies, maybe a little bit of a hand in the right direction, particularly for those that posted saying that they found it hard more recently.
But that will have to wait until tomorrow, as I really need to Zzz right now lol, long night at work! x0 -
I totally understand where you guys are coming from xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Thanks everyone, its just good to know I'm not alone.

I was more referring to the interesting juxtaposition of your slim inspiration clothing hanging on the front of the wardrobe, and the hidden white toblerones on the top :rotfl:
I'm very impressed you're getting rid of the "too big" clothes, I think that's where I've gone wrong in the past...you're showing a real commitment to keeping the weight off.
My DSs are 6' tall, slim and muscly, when we go out as a family I too am the wee fat one...and the stage we're at now, I'm beginning to panic slightly...what if they get married? how would I find an outfit that looked nice? I don't want to be the wee podgy one in the photos :rotfl:

The fact that I don't have to hang onto the bannister to drag myself up the stairs.... and, what puts a smile on my face, is the fact that I can get up out of a chair without using my hands... It's the small things that matter....
Last year, when I was gardening.... I had to use the garden fork to hoist myself up off my knees.... I don't have to do that any more.... :T:T:T
Do you know I'd forgotten those benefits that I too enjoyed when I'd lost weight. I loved that I could get off the chair without heaving myself up and not have to winch myself up the stairs. Can totally relate.
Reminding me of those joys alone has really motivated me to knuckle down again and get the weight off again. It IS the smaller things, isn't it? You're right.
Coq au vin didn't get made last night due to an unexpected visitor but recovered with a Nigel Slater Sticky honey & lemon chicken recipe. (phew, just avoided a takeaway by a whisker there!)
Food planned today -
Iced coffee
Yogurt swirled with blackcurrant conserve.
Mixed meat salad (actually have HG salad in garden now:T)
with pear & creamy blue cheese.
Banana/watermelon
Philli stuffed chicken
Roasted onions
New potatoes
carrots/peas
Snacks - slice HM seed cake, apple
Mum now due today as couldn't come yesterday. Better get some bread dough on the go as family have requested HM breadcakes for their lunch again.
I shall get the washing in while its dry, too. DH seems to have heard Thurs is supposed to be the hottest day yet this year. I wonder...... :cool:AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

In the past sparrer I've also done the opposite...put up a photo of myself when I was slim and fit, to remind me I could be like that. I've also made a collage of pictures taken from magazines of places I really wanted to visit, knowing that I couldn't enjoy the holiday properly until I was fit enough to do the walking required. I stuck it up on the kitchen cupboard beside the chart for marking the pounds lost, and it encouraged me a lot...and I did visit all the places on it!Thanks everyone, its just good to know I'm not alone.

You're definitely not alone Julie! We've all had our struggles, and we're here to listen and share with you. Even if you can only manage baby steps by cutting down on the some of the crap stuff just now, it all helps. Also if I can keep my hands busy with knitting/ crochet, I can't eat messy chocolate etc.
.
Mrs CD, you're obviously an amateur chocolate eater :rotfl:
A professional chocolate eater could eat chocolate and knit and not drop a crumb (or a stitch!) :rotfl:

Lots of interesting posts and ideas on here at the moment! I'll get the big disclosure out of the way now, so you can all tell me to leave if you want to - I don't like chocolate. My main temptations are savoury things - cheese in particular, which I usually have in the fridge and have to resist adding to... just about anything.
My first day back on OS WL went quite well - the only change I made to yesterday's plan was to add a small quantity of grated cheese () to my veggie chilli as I burnt it slightly and cheese seemed the easiest way to hide the resulting slightly bitter flavour. Today's lunchtime portion has a coleslaw accompaniment for the same reason!
Breakfast - two small slices HM bread with a scraping of butter; handful of radishes (very French!)
Lunch - veg chilli with coleslaw; LF mango yoghurt
Dinner - Thai chicken curry with stirfried Chinese greens (cooked with a splash of water rather than oil); small portion of rice noodles
Then there's the pub quiz this evening, where I'd usually have a couple (or three) pints of cider; maybe tonight I'll go for a white wine spritzer instead, with soda water, as a lower calorie option.
Best of luck today, everyone!Back after a very long break!0
