Well, I have been discharged from the fracture clinic! :j x-ray showed it is all healed....only took 12 bl**dy weeks...!

However, it is not all good news. The doctor said that as I walk around more the pain will get worse before it gets better, and the foot will probably swell up again. She also said no exercise beyond very light walking for another 6 weeks :( and still no high heels!!!

Am a little bit sad because part of our summer holiday this year is a few days in Yosemite National Park, and we were planning a few short hikes (nothing more than 8 miles). However, I have completely lost any fitness I had whilst being virtually immobile for nearly 3 months, and if I am only allowed 'very light walking' for another 6 weeks I can't see me walking 8 miles 2 months from now :( booooooo :(

    Anyway, never mind. Today's food...

B - bran flakes with strawberries, tea
S - coffee and 1 rich tea biscuit (at grandparents' house!)
L - sardine and tomato paste sandwich on WeightWatchers bread with loads of lettuce, tea
S - tasting my experimental cornbread. No idea how many calories this would be so I put it into Nutracheck as 250
    D - pasta with ratatouille

    Total cals - 1096

I may have some fruit later if I am hungry

    Monday
    B - F&F, ss milk
L - Ham, egg, salad. They put chips on the plate which I had asked them not to and I didn't eat a single one, felt very proud of myself
S - 2 shortbread, haggis (must have been HaggisDay ellie!) and veg/couscous stir-fry, Trojan bar, chicken/mayo wrap.
Unsurprisingly I felt quite ill after eating all that lot after 7 o'clock in the evening

Wow sparrer, I'm very very impressed...I'm sure I would have sneaked a few!

Never mind daisiegg, it'll get better...this time next year you'll have forgotten all about it, and you can go hiking then :)
I can't believe you damaged it so badly!

    todays food
B: red berry granola, ss milk...yes, Mrs Stick-in-the-mud, must-have-cornflakes-every-day, had something different :)
    L: cheese on toast
D: baked potato with cheese, 1 sausage, choc mousse
    (def too much cheese today)

E: just over an hours slow walk in the country with a friend, very pleasant, but very sore now...daisiegg, you're not the only one who's lost her fitness!

The weirdest thing about the walk was...my friend, who's also dieting and is pretty good about not eating rubbish, said to me (out of the blue, we weren't talking about food) that she'd had a new chocolate bar, which was so gorgeous that she was now totally craving it...the very same bar I had problems with last week (and which I'm still craving now!) WHAT do they put in it??? It should be illegal :rotfl:
(and she also told me where it was half price, I'm not sure I should know that!)

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?

daisiegg good news about your foot, not so good for your holiday but hopefully you'll find something else less strenuous to do that's as just enjoyable while you're away.

KW please put me down for 6lb for the new challenge. I tell myself I can easily lose 1/2lb a week yet when the time comes I struggle to get off the bloomin' plateau. The first few weeks go well then I get stuck, maybe I should aim lower then I could say I'm 'maintaining' ;)

Chocolate addicts are going to love this one - I took a trojan bar out of the freezer to eat last night, put it on the side to soften a bit then forgot all about it. I enjoyed a nectarine and two clementines before I remembered the chocolate, which I put in the fridge for another day :D

Today will be a messy day timewise so meals will go something like this
    B - F&F, ss milk
L/D - chicken salad. Will be out from 11.30am - 4pm so will have a late lunch/early dinner about 5pm as I'm out again at 7pm.
    S - fresh fruit
E - 1x10 mins done before breakfast. Am quite enjoying getting up a bit early but it may not last. Tried getting up during ad's last night but there wasn't always enough time to do what I started so missed half of one programme which I may, if I get time, catch up with tomorrow!

    Happy Wednesday :)
