Have discovered a gorgeous recipe I just had to share for Spicy Lentil Soup. It was a hit with DD who is 5 and just doesn't like soup usually and 1yr old DS wolfed it down even though he's really poorly at the mo. Here we go. HIH.

    Ingredients

    125g/4oz red lentils
    2tbsp vegetable oil
    1 large onion
    2 garlic cloves
    1tsp ground cumin
    1tsp ground coriander
    1tsp garam masala
    2tbsp tomato puree
    1 litre of stock

    Preparation

    1. Rinse lentils in cold water, drain and set aside.

    2. Heat oil in saucepan, fry onions and garlic until softened.

    3. Stir in cumin, coriander, garam masala, tomato puree and 4tbsp of the stock. Mix well and simmer gently for 2 minutes.

    4. Add lentils and remaining stock. Bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer for approximately 1 hour.

Sharonr - that soup sounds lovely :) I need to make some soups again.

First day back at work today. I find it easy while I am at work but the evenings when I start to get tired I start to nibble.

    Today's Menu
    B: porridge with splenda
    s: tangerine
L: Heinz Tomato & Butterbean Soup (YUM!)
D: tomatoes and mushrooms on wholemeal toast
s: 2 quality street, snack size sushi, 1/2 pint SS milk for tea

I stir fried the mushrooms in a tiny bit of olive oil and some soy sauce - they were very tasty.
  • Not too bad a day - managed 30 minutes on Wii fit - my balance is dreadful but this is something to work on.

After evening meal I craved a sweet pudding - made a cup of tea and realised I was actually full, just got into the habit of having that sweet input at the end of the meal. Going to invest in a box of choc. breakfast cereal and have a small bowl as a dry sweet nibble if I crave something like this. Have you any idea how long it takes to eat even a small bowl of choc. puffed rice cereal????;)

Have a good day tomorrow - need to make packed lunch to take to work so I'm not tempted to snack.

I'm preparing myself for the days where I do just pig out on rubbish, I know it will happen. My eating is pretty heavily connected to my emotional state. That much I have worked out.

Hopefully today will be better for you dragonlily.

tea, skimmed milk no sugar on waking.
Just had the dog around the country park, we walked very fast for 35 minutes, a couple of miles walked there I'm sure.

Going to have 2 egg mushroom omlette and a small glass apple juice for lunch. I do plan to sit down with a cuppa and 2 chocolate digestives when I have finished my housework though.

I would like to join too.

Have signed up to myfitnesspal and got the blackberry app. It suggested 1200 cal a day, think is pretty drastic but will try!Went 44 cal over yesterday but well on track today.

    B oaty bar
l lentil carrot soup, 2 slices bread, activia yoghurt
    D Veggie Stir fry
S Banana, box raisins and apricots

And have 250 calories left for snack later too.

I have 10kg to loose on drs advise, so 22lbs. Would like to do this by Easter, and maybe more after! Currently 13 stone.

When I did weight watchers before you could save points for wine/treats, can you do this on a 1200 cal diet, or is it best to eat all calories on the day?

Tonight I will tidy living room so have space to do 30 day shred again.

From what I understand, and I'm no expert, not even a novice at this, is that you should keep around the same amount of calorie intake each day as if you scrimp your body could go into starvation mode and store, is it fat?

Please someone that knows what they're talking about, come dig me out of this hole! lol
