  • Have been thinking about possible targets to aim for this year, and the only key thing I can think of is a friends wedding coming up in August. That seems like a reasonable amount of time to lose a couple of stone and hopefully a dress size.

I have a busy 2 weeks when I get back to work, but when they're over, I'm going to join the budget gym in my town - I can't be using 'raining' as an excuse to sit on my bum all the time.
  • Hi, can I join the challenge please?
Very overweight and don't look good in any clothes. No spare money for gym membership, so will try to control portion sizes and cut out unhealthy snacks, use the wii for exercise and get back to more cycling (stop using the weather/dark evenings as an excuse).
Aim for at least 14 lbs

So my food for today is:
breakfast - oats and honey bar
lunch - ham sandwich, hula hoops and lemon curd yogurt
dinner - HM chili and a small portion of rice

I'm feeling very large after christmas :( so need to focus and stop eating so much! :o

  • I have managed to successfully depress myself today! I stepped on the scales....

I've had big 3 course dinners with friends for the last 2 nights, so am trying to remind myself to take that into consideration (i.e. I still feel full), but even still, I am about 4lbs from being back at my heaviest weight of 12 years ago. The scales "suggest" I've put on around 8lbs in 3 weeks

Can I please increase my goal to 14lbs this challenge?

I know 3-4lbs will drop off as soon as I return to normal eating after this weekend. I still have another 2 meals with friends, and New Years lunch tomorrow (the tradition is to have a steak pie here), but I will ration out the choccies and try to drink a little less tonight.

I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
I stepped on the scales for the first time since early December....and I haven't gained (or lost) anything.
While i am disappointed that i haven't lost, i am more impressed that i haven't gained!

    So i am STILL 10st 13lbs.

Ah yes the uncomfortable clothes bit! I am between bra sizes :o a 40" band is too loose (even on the tightest fitting!) and a 38" band pinches a bit (but at least it holds the girls and it doesn't pinch as much if I sit bolt upright so it is probably better for my posture :rotfl:)

KW, I tried on a dress last night which now fits, apart from the last couple of inches of zip...was thinking it's a pity we can't "breathe in" a chest the same as we do to zip up jeans...doesn't matter how much I breathe in, the bust area doesn't get any smaller :rotfl:

Pretty sure I'm going to eat too much today...I've started already, had soup, with rolls warm from the oven, with butter, yes butter, on :)
I'm in an "I deserve it" mood. Been to work, and now my car is broken...DS is assessing whether it's completely terminal, or fixable (it seems I should have stopped immediately, but as I was nearly home, I kept going, and may have done more damage).
This is the second year my car's broken on new years eve...really inconvenient! The road to the nearest town to get spare parts is closed with flooding, the secondary route is also closed, and it seems a few places have closed already for the holidays.
Keep your fingers crossed for me :) I'm trying to remain really calm, and tell myself it will all be fixed eventually. I'm expected to work on the 2nd though.

    Happy New Year everyone :D
