    Hi all,

I'm really struggling with my eating. Ive already had half a bar of choccie this morning.

I then try and cut out lunch or whatever and just end up eating the sweet things instead so it doesnt work.

I cant get to grips with carbs. If i have a sandwich for lunch then what do i have for dinner that isnt carbs. Any advice much apprecited.

    A very confused magical:cool:

I'm probably not the best person to answer this because I'm no expert on how much of each food group we should be having, but is there a reason why you want to cut down on carbs?
If you're struggling, why not just eat reasonable portions of whatever you want? I often have a sandwich for lunch, and then have potato or pasta for dinner, and I'm still losing weight...I'm just making sure I don't have too much.

I can't say anything about the chocolate except if it's not in the house you can't eat it :)...that's how I cope!

Well done Jackie :) Do you mind if i ask if you have any medical complications from being overweight? The only reason i ask if that you mention seeing the doctor and other medical people in regards to your weight losss?

I still have not bothered with scales, but i am staying at my sisters house this weekend, house sitting, so will weigh in on Saturday morning using her scales.
To be honest, i dont think that i will have lost any weight, but we'll see!

If a trainer said this to me I think I'd be asking more questions...why do you have to cut out carbs?...does he really think you don't need to lose weight?...are you not overweight at all?...do you just want to tone up?
That sort of thing. obviously I don't know your weight and height, but you need to be sure if you need to diet or not :)

    Hello all.

I have been reading this thread and would like to ask, how is this 'weight loss the old style way', please? I didn't think things like low carbs was old style - is it counting calories or eating old style meals, or just a weight loss chat thread where people lose weight however they choose?

Apologies for all the questions, haven't read all of this as it's too long.
Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.

I was reading something in the paper today about people dieting and one woman used to be "size 14 and had to shop in Marks and Spencer". I just recently bought a size 14 dress from the M & S sale and I was so pleased with myself but now it feels like nothing :(

I don't follow. If you're a size 14, bought a size 14, why does it feel like nothing? I think you should remain pleased with yourself.

Not specifically, magical. Other people mention low carbing as well and I wouldn't associate it with old style weight-loss, so curious as to how this works, that's all.
