Items generally have to be returned for a refund, yes and inconvenience but necessary nonetheless.
But that should not be at the cost of the OP.
If Amazon want the items returned before offering a refund, then Amazon should at least pay for it (and possibly even arrange a collection for it themselves).
It is not the OP's fault the items have been tampered with, and so the OP should not be disadvantaged (either in time or money) because of the issue.0 -
just an update to this, i have yet to hear anything back from amazon, despite sending the letter recorded delivery.
