Out went the surplus bed linen this morning. I'm keeping the bare minimum from now on.

In came a pair of part worn tyres, three tins of paint out of the shed. All stacked neatly by the side of the tumble dryer .

    46. Feliway diffuser – eBay sale posted
    47. 2 books - Amazon sale posted
    48. 2 unwanted sale items – returned to Boots for refund
    49. 2 cushion pads – car
    50. Cleared out bedside cabinet drawers – chucked/put away odds and ends
    51. Clear 2 books from bedroom bookcase – car boot

So glad I finally faced the dreaded bedside cabinet. It wasn't as bad I had expected cos I'd cleared it fairly recently, but I've taken the 1/2 used Yankee Candle jars out of the bottom drawer and with the rearranging have a whole (albeit small) bottom drawer spare! :T

All that's left to do in bedroom now is
    - sort through my nightwear
    - sort through jewellery
    - face the shoes and boots trunk.

Priority is to make sure office and spare room respectable before I drill down into The Depths though. And don't get me started on what school resoucres I've got stuffed in every nook and cranny in the office...

Not done much decluttering last week, but managed a small amount today plus some cleaning.

Got the kitchen cleaned, by decluttering the work surfaces of stuff that shouldn't have been there. So out went a box of 20 tubs of Play doh that had gone hard, loads of paper including all the take-away menus. Know the reason I done this is a friends husband was coming round to mend our roof and I knew he'd need in the kitchen to get water, and I'd be so embarrased if he seen the state of it.

Also (quickly) vaccumned the hall, stairs and landing, living room. Done a load of washing and ironed small pile of clothes. Got another load to do tomorrow. Oh and gave bathroom a quick clean too.

Really chuffed with my progress today - and everyone else's. :T

Love this thread, but wondered if anyone else noticed its now much harder to declutter. Years ago we would just take all our rubbish to the tip and that was it (apart from stuff to the CS) now its all sorted and taken to different places and takes so much longer. I am very much in favour of recycling but it takes me longer to get motivated enough to do it.
  • Well I've just tackled the lounge cupboard. Now have 1.5 entirely empty shelves :j

Also have a box of random electrical gubbins for OH to sort through tomorrow to see if we actually need it or not - but theres room for it in the plastic storage tub if it is all 'essential' so it won't clutter the cupboard back up.

I've put some assorted bits in a charity bag, listed some other stuff on freecycle and binned others.

Anyone know any charities for donating PC's too? My old PC has been in the cupboard for about 6 months untouched as hubby and I have 3 laptops between us. Its old but a good spec and runs well as I work in IT so know how to look after it ;)

Took 3 bags to the charity shop this morning and will be doing a tip run tomorrow. Hubby has also promised to clear out the shed so all in all should prove to be a productive weekend!
  • Does anyone know of a charity or similar that will pick up stuff? I struggle to get the charity shop with both girls in tow, so if there is someone I can call on to collect my decluttered stuff then that would be ace! Oh, and I use freecycle but I REALLY can't be doing with splitting all this stuff up - I've bunged it all into a big bag so it needs to go in one lot LOL
:j Currently doing the Swagbucks challenge :j

It does take longer but I am SO against land fill that I don't mind. Mr F brings home bottles he finds when walking the dog - in case they get broken - dogs could cut their paws or children fall over on it and cut themselves. I wash the bottles at the end of washing up - then he carries them down to the recycling bin - quite a distance - we don't have a car.
