Been really demotivated lately (work-related down in the dumps malarkey) so must get on with this as I totally agree about clutter and mental health being related! Just been wandering from room to room vacantly mostly :rotfl:!

Have got rid of a few things:

2 tops to charity shop / car boot box
2 jackets to charity shop / car boot box
Candle holder to charity shop / car boot box
Cardboard envelope from humungous calendar into recycling.

Okay, so my total is now 23/100 - not good when we are almost halfway through the month.

Well, if my house represents my mental health (which I believe it does), then I am worse than I thought. :(

My motivation has been lost amongst the clutter. I've tried tempting it out from hiding and nothing works, not even chocolate.

I have to get rid of paper. But as fast as I shred it more arrives. Some of it can't be chucked so I file it. Then the file gets fatter and fatter. How long should I keep bills, important documents for?
Paper for me in my small flat is the big enemy. I just lose the will - whatever I do, I can't seem to get rid of mountains of it.

And old clothes. Should I have a rule that if it hasn't been worn for 6 months (season dependent) out it goes? I have a lamp I don't want any longer (v good condition) but I don't know how to sell on ebay....I tend to take everything to CS.
I look around me and see so much crud I'd like to get rid of, or things that could be elsewhere but we have only 2 cupboards in the whole flat and I just get so easily demoralised.
Sometimes I just want to throw everything out! I went to visit a friend in Oslo and the whole Scandi decluttered way of living made me depressed but also wishing that my flat could be more mimimalist. There are 2 of us and OH is very untidy too, which doesn't help.
I've done the kitchen store cupboard (good), but then bought a griddle pan that is now on the hob as won't fit into any of my small cupboards...
anyone else feel that it's an endless, uphill struggle and you'll never win?

Sorted out my bedroom drawers and got rid of some old cards to recycling (I was keeping them for sentimental reasons but kept the ones for our wedding day and old Valentines cards .... from DH not anyone else ;)). Also I got rid of scan pictures of 2 LOs I miscarried so it was a hard thing to do .... but I did it. I showed DH and he was supportive. Also got rid of old paper stuff I don't need any more. All in all a good afternoon's work.
