OH was decisive about the excess cutlery/spoons so that's made a big difference. All this freed up a drawer to store spices which freed up space in a cupboard. Still have some bits out left to sort but I'm still achey today so they will have to wait.
Hope everyone is busy rolling their sleeves up :jDeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

There are 3 boxes of books in the loft which can't fit so my aim would be to have all of my books in that shelving in the living room. So I need to stop borrowing library books and read my own. There are books I can part with but I want to read them first and that is the problem.
This sounds like the beginning of a Plan! I agree about reading my own before library books. In the current climate we are being warned that libraries will shut if they are not used, and I truly want to support them, but if I do that I won't get through a winter time of books. So I'm hoping that everyone else will be supporting the libraries over the next few months (:)) so I can catch up. I used to think the other way round - keep borrowing from the library and read my own when I can no longer get there - but that's crazy, by that time I'll probably be needing the large print books that they have and I don't!0 -

Will get rid of the old everyday dining set which will go to a relative. This will free up a shelf in a cupboard. Won't count until it's all wrapped up and boxed ready to go. It's amazing how when you look critically at stuff you can create some space.

I've been busy with other things today,so have just managed to declutter two plant pots:
8/50.0 -
I haven't actually been keeping count of what I've decluttered. But on Saturday I took 3 black bin bags of toys and 1 black bin bag of kitchen stuff to the CS.
I also gave 1 black bin bag of clothes to DD's school. It's a special school as she has Autism and they're collecting cash for clothing to raise a few pounds for school funds.
Today I have gutted DD's wardrobe, it's in our bedroom as her room is too small. It was filled with rubbish from all over the house plus all my handbags. I've actually filled a black bin bag with handbags and purses alone, this will go to CS at the weekend. Decluttered loads of stuff that was filling the wardrobe...DH was amazed that he could see the back of the wardrobe from inside lol :rotfl:
I also emptied the cupboard under the kitchen sink. I threw away quite a few bottles of cleaner which were so old the bottles had changed colour. DH had 2 grey plastic boxes in the driveway, I brought them in, scrubbed them and used one of them in the bottom shelf of the cupboard. This way if I need something I can pull the box out, get what I need and slide the box back. Instead of having to lift out and replace a dozen bottles just to reach the one thing I want
I've also decluttered some paperwork and shredded as necessary.
My bedroom was covered in christmas presents I've bought for family members. I've now organised them and grouped them in bags for each family....still have more presents in the attic though.
In between doing this I've made lunch & dinner. DD has bowel problems and poo'd herself, she had to be stripped and put in bath and a load of washing put into the washer, then dryer.
I'm knackered now, but it feels good knowing I'm making headway :T0 -

Been a lazy sort of day today, tidied up a bit and did a few jobs that needed getting out of the way, but not much decluttering.
76. Another roll of sellotape finished
77. Pack of garden canes given to friend
78. Leek & potato soup made by hubby on Sunday eaten for lunch (it tasted better than it looked!!!)
79. Bottle of wine decluttered with dinner
80. Invites printed and envelopes addressed ready for posting
81. Pair of trousers that are too baggy and too short - charity bag
All tombola prizes now wrapped in cellophane and numbered, and the corresponding tickets folded up ready for tombola. Another one of those jobs that niggled.... getting there slowly.Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Nothing started today as I have done my voluntary work then unusally for me went shopping for a coat for wet winter days, then choir tonight.
Tomorrow I have a huge long list of overdue tasks to do including a letter I must write on the laptop and DH has asked for some MSE finance advice - so when will I start?
I think I must make my daily "to do " list to include at least one big decluttering job per day.0 -

Well done you!
I did this with storage bins as well, really glad I did as when we had a leak under the sink a few weeks ago, the plastic bins saved all my dusters and cloths getting soaked. Plus you get to find stuff, and use it, so much easier.
