  • I haven't got too much on in November so am resolved to get decluttering.
    Stumbling blocks :
    - too much time spent on here
    - lack of co-operation from DH who is a hoarder
    - and so am I to a lesser extent
I am going to start on the kitchen and my paperwork.
    Wish me luck.
  • Extra motivation to sort my paperwork / study is that I cannot find the stamps I bought before the price went up, ready for Christmas cards.

A big welcome to all newbies, it's great to have you on board.

I had planned this afternoon to sort out 2 photo albums but managed to sort 6 in the end. Well pleased with myself. Out of the 6 albums I went through, I managed to get rid of enough photos to turn it into 3.5 albums. I have decided not to turn my oldest albums into photo books but I might do this with my albums from my most recent holidays. With my oldest photo albums I have incorporated this with special Christmas / birthday cards that I wanted to keep so that it is all kept in one place.

In total I have 21 albums minus the 6 I did today so only 15 to do now.
No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
    Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j
  • Oh I've been rubbish :( Had big plans as the kids went back to school today. So I sat on the sofa all afternoon reading. I had a horrible cold last week and feel like it's still lingering :(

So, I have had a mini declutter:

    18. plastic packaging - recycling
    19. Large cardboard box-recylcing
    20. Daughters old underwear decluttered from drawer - bin
    22. Odd socks from my odd sock bag - bin.
    23. 2 x jumpers - charity bag
    24. Junk mail-recycling
    25. 1x glass in kitchen, smashed & binned :(
    26. Baby sleeping bag - sold on Fb
    27. Baby snowsuit. - sold on fb
    28. Girls PJ's - sold on Fb

I'm unsure about my 300 target now lol. I may see if I can get near for now! :o
96 items decluttered so far in 2013 :)

    Good morning!

Thanks mineallmine for your message. Added to the previous 30 items are:-

Floor clutter (packaging materials) x 1
    Recycling bags x 2
    Rubbish bag x 1
    Composting x 1
    Old prescription items x 1
    Task for a person x 1
    Food ingredients/recipes x 3

Now 40 with others in progress and really "bad" ones to come.
  • I've tackled the box of mainly papers that I discovered yesterday - almost all papers have gone out with the recycling. Many were stored in 40 yr old plastic bags that were 2nd hand anyway! But the MAIN THING OF THE DAY for me is that since June I have moved on over 2000 books :j

That's amazing - well done! How many more are you hoping to move on? I love books, I used to hoard, I used to hate it when people turned corners of page and would give them a bookmark from my stash lol! Thankfully once the kids came along my obsession with my books had to go, my children's books are immaculate - I taught them from a very early age that books are precious. In fact, I took a load to this Stuff for Free shop and the sales assistant said are you sure you don't want to music magpie these books lol!
