Washing on and first kitchen drawer emptied. I seem to have had a competition to see how many tea towels can I squeeze in! I'm going to bin the old holey ones and any stained ones.

Come and see mine! I have a hubby who insists on taking a clean Tea towel from the drawer whenever he sets foot in the kitchen! He will dry his hands on it once and cast to the front of the washing machine so I have to wash it again  I have got to go through them again though as I am too ashamed of most of them to hang on the washing line :o

Managed to do the bedroom this morning. Med stuff in the drawers, tights into a different drawer, plastic bins stacked in one another on the almost empty wardrobe shelf - am feeling quite smug! :D

Hope everyone is feeling chipper! Well done all. :)

Today I hoovered really properly so loads of dust gone together with quite a few cobwebs. I went through my jewellery boxes, I have 3 in total, 5 neck laces will be given to charity shop tomorrow + I have a couple of silver necklaces to sell by weight. A vanity case will also be dropped off at the charity shop tomorrow.

Biggest achivement of the week though is that I have now sorted out 14 photo albums which now have been transformed into 7 photo albums after having thrown away damaged / unwanted photos. I have 6 more photo albums to sort through hopefully to be done by the end of this month.
No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

  • Had a productive day today, although not much has been thrown/given away. I finally got the bedrooms back to normal after having daughter and grandson here last week, they look much better now everything's back in its normal place. Did find a few things to dispose of though:

    97. Piece of fabric that I don't like and is a pain to cut and sew - fabric recycling
    98. Tidied all the papers lying around, and either filed them, shredded them or put in paper recycling
    99. Used up some fabric making morsbags
    100. Plastic wallet that was looking very tatty - bin
101-102. Grandson's walker and chair gone back to his house
    103. Ice cream tub returned to its owner (had loose change collection in it)
    104. Tablecloth that is very badly stained - fabric recycling

I even managed to get some Christmas cards written today, a job I hate doing and always leave until the middle of December, then panic because I haven't done it. I buy them in the January sales, or make my own, but just never seem to get around to being organised enough to write them early! Not this year though....!

Just have to declutter a couple of stone of fat from my body now .....
Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

  • Hello all. We've all been ill in the house and I've had some professional development work to do too. However, have managed the following:
    1-5. books to charity
    6. too small trousers of DDs -charity
    7. Dress I've not worn the last year - charity
    8. load of bits from top drawer in bedroom - bin/recycling
    9. wooden crate used to store bread/vegetables - recycling
10 - 14. cds have never listened to - charity
15-18. empty cd cases - recycling
    19. pasta measure, which was quite stingy - charity

We think we have some little 'visitors' back in the house due to the cold weather, so my bread was thrown out and we have started storing food in cupboards.

Keep going everyone, it is really motivating to know I am part of a flinging group (or brigade? :rotfl:).

My husband uses them as napkins - which I hate - am always soaking them trying to remove stains ... so instead of a drawer I bought a wicker basket from QD, my best white ones are at the bottom and the worst ones are at the top ... problem solved

Well done mealallmine - how did you dispose of your carving knife? I have a broken one the blade has broken free of the handle but I'm not sure what to do with it?

donnajt - I googled what you should do with knives as this is a big one. Via netmums some police site says the local dump should accept it as a scrap metal. So that's the plan. :)
