  • Good morning declutters

The large trunk (the one not filled with kindling) in the garage has been niggling me and I've finally tackled it this morning. I brought in a neat vegetable storage rack which will eventually replace the large one in the kitchen. Out has gone:

    1 pr speakers
    1 sleeve board :rotfl:
    1 suitcase trolley
    1 exercise thingy

I can now move spare duvets, cushions etc from my bedroom down to the trunk. I don't want to declutter these yet but I do want them moved. Feeling much happier now!

    Hi everyone,

Been very busy at work so haven't had time to post recently BUT I have still been doing a little decluttering.

6-15 Books to a friends son.
16 Huge pile of recipe leaflets to the cookery department at school.
    17 Magazine to a friend.
18 Large bag of DD1 and DD2s holey tights to the bin.

I have at least 3 bags of OHs clothing sorted and ready to go to the CS but I will list them when they have gone.

    Happy decluttering everyone.:)

    Morning All

I need to be more organised and must remember where I put things when it's in a safe place. I was searching for some hooks and came across a white shoe box, I'd forgotten what was in there in fact I thought why on earth did I keep this box! Inside I found notes of passwords which are all out of date now cos when I tried to login to various sites I couldn't for the life of me think now what did I set up this account under and then duly changed :rotfl:

Lots of shredding achieved and old socks unfit to wear all binned.

I still haven't found those hooks, I know I bought some!

The weather in the south is wonderful this morning, have a good weekend.

Gahh paper work decluttering nightmare!!! I swear it's breeding behind my back. And now that we're buying a house, we have even more...

My current system isn't working because... The box is getting too small  I use a cathedral metal box but I want to change my whole system. I want a file with everything house related, a file with everything car related, etc (you get the idea).

For old accounts, I always keep the final statement and proof of payment that they send you (just in case). So it adds to it.

On the other hand, I have been very good with the decluttering of objects. I located 2 old mobile phones that I'll probably send to maz*ma: should fetch £20 if the system works properly...

Every one is doing really well. I'm always amazed when I see people emptying and clearing out bags of old stuff. I couldn't do that, not in one day!

In our (hopefully) future house, we will have a loft. I have already got 2 plastic crates to keep some things that have sentimental values. Only two, not more. I don't want to get rid of everything as from time to time, I like a trip down memory lane :)

I'm starting my declutter today - taking a trolley full of hardback books (gardening encyclopedias/cookbooks) and videos to the CS. This is merely a piece of gravel at the foot of a very tall mountain!

  • I'm going to start my September target today, recognising that half the battle is finding a home for things (and keeping them in it) and the other half of the battle is chucking redundant items. So my goal is 50 items rightfully homes and fifty items chucked! Here we go!

    Homed & organised
1-6 kitchen cupboards & their contents organised (& some bits chucked out from each)
    7 - all paperwork filed

    Chucked
1 huge bag of shredded documents recycled
2-3 massive bundes of unneeded plastic bags recycled

Well done you :T. When you add together all those little bits of gravel, you will find you have enough to fill a wheelbarrow! A lot of littles eventually makes one great big!!:rotfl: and even if you only remove 1 item a day that's still 365 a year.

    Well done you:T

I am writing two lists today: one for myself and one for hubby. I find making a list helps as I get a huge sense of achievement every time I cross something off as being done. Why is my list about five times longer than his?!?:)

    Have a great day all,

46 - 48. out of date tins to recycling
    49. padded shelf lining finally put onto shelves and old oilcloth binned.
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
  • I'm absolutely hell bent on getting the house decluttered before the big C (Christmas!)

I've got a few large items on ebay with bids on, just have one extra large sofa to list and then the furniture has been decluttered. I really don't know what we were thinking, it's way too big for our living room.

I took 4 large black bin liners of rubbish to the tip and filled 2 of the recycling wheelie bins, whoops!
