  • You're so right.I think that it's something that I'm slowly acquiring.

Here is what I managed today:

    -18 dvds to sell
    -1 tablecloth for Mum
-2 pairs of oven gloves to cs
    -some plastic sheeting to bin
-2 ornaments (including the aforementioned turtle!)
-lots of plastic food packaging binned
-1 small cloth bag to cs
    -2 wooden badges to cs
    -2 magazines recycled

I'm quite pleased with what I've managed.

    36/50

It's amazing how focused I can get when I've got visitors coming.Apart from all the cleaning and tidying today,I managed to sort though and tidy away/shred and recycle a lot of paperwork.
I've also sorted through my dvd collection, aphabetized one section that was in a muddle and now have some extra shelf space as I have picked 47 dvds to sell or for the cs.Eight of these were boxed sets,so I'm very pleased.

Plus 6 plates out to cs.

    I make that 89/50.:j

  • I think I'll put my target up to 100,as things are going so well.

There is just so much activity! My visitors are also another deadline for me - and I've also raised my target. It would be amazing to have an overview of us all - and see our places less weighed down. Maybe we're the ones whose homes are an inch or so off the ground. :rotfl:

If only I could maintain this 'get up and go' mentality permanently.

I did also tidy away 2 cumbersome objects, the result being that the sitting really looks great and rather 'empty'-but not in a bad way. It's when I've had a day like today that I realise how much clutter drags me down.Such a 'weight'.

I wish that I could be more like my sister. Her house has no clutter whatsoever.I suppose that I can aspire to be like her. It's a step in the right direction...

I think I have some bubbly on top of my fridge, shall be gigging that to the hen party I'm going to at weekend if it's still there :) i think it is! And there is some whisky or brandy I'm sure I could gift to someone else :rotfl:

Failing that, no decluttering today, though we have a cleaner round for 2 hours today (gift from a friend) so that's exciting !lol (oh my life these days!) xx

Good morning happytails (life sounds good for you at the moment) and all.
Yesterday I looked on the chest of drawers next to my bed and got annoyed with all the "essentials" that keep finding their way back there (note - nothing to do with me!) so I put most of them in a neat storage box without its lid and I'll to the same to the rest with a matching box. Things are still there, I really don't need the 6 pens and pencils etc, but it does look so much better and there is space again. Being pleased with that area will help me to work out what should live there properly and what has not yet found its rightful home (or bin).
1 [STRIKE]useless[/STRIKE] inadequate "multi-purpose storage system" (suitable only for minimalists)
    3 overdoor hangers
    2 odd plates
    1 odd lid
    2 pillow slips
    1 handwarmer
1 shoulder bag - all to cs
    2nd African stool to freecycler

For some reason I haven't been receiving the notifications of updates to this thread via email so had a bit of catching up on everyone's activities to do. You've all been doing so well. Quite a productive weekend. All items on ebay that ended this weekend sold - John Rocha coat was collected within an hour of the auction ending, Clarks handbag was posted Saturday afternoon. Today have brought in to work the series 2 and 3 No Angels DVDs and the Gwen Stefani perfume to be posted at lunchtime. I am gobsmacked at how much the DVds went for, I paid £8.99 each and they sold for £51!! am thinking I should take the price tags off as once the buyer sees that they might hit the roof!
Doctor Who magazines collected by Freecycler on Saturday afternoon. I listed my Zest magazines on Freecycle but might just chuck them in the recycling. Thing is before I do I always sit and go through them one last time just in case there was an article I wanted to keep or a product I wanted and so it can be a good hour before they actually get chucked out :(
