What a beautiful morning!
I did some more work on the shelves, clearing off the top two so now I can reach everything, and I also found another box of assorted grot, so that's
37 books to recycling
15 books to cs
I just updated my sig and think I need to do a little more this afternoon to bring it over the 700 mark.
How are you doing, endlessstruggle? Who knows what goodies you may find - as well as some definite baddies that can quickly leave the house!0 -
Well every half term holiday I say the same thing "this holiday I am going to declutter:rotfl:" and I start with all good intentions that just disappear into time spent on the XBOX
.
So have decided that I am not going to say it this holiday, but today I have managed
1. Old kids play kitchen to dump
2. Old and broken Dyson to dump
3. Big bag of rubbish from shed to dump
4. 3 jigsaws to CS
5. Large metal shoe rack to CS
6. Large horse tapestry picture to CS
7. 2 x unused photo album books to CS
8. Metal tissue box holder to CS
9. Bag of various items to CS
10. Bag of various items to CS
11. Bag of various items to CS
12. Bag of various items to CS
13. Bag of rubbish collected from my bedroom floor to bin
14 .Ironed tableclothes returned to customer
and as I haven't got a total I am aiming for, as I get so disheartened when I don't reach my total, I will declare for now

Looking around for what else I could tackle I realised that I still had an unpacked removal box near the computer. That has now been sorted to a much smaller storage box, the booklets moved to 2 unused OU boxes and the ring binders on or neatly under the bookshelves. I can see much more carpet!
Also the removal box has started being filled with cs stuff. I had a doorstep charity bag through my door but unfortunately they don't want what I can pass on. There'll be a couple more through the letter box soon. So to take me past the 700 books figure:
9 books to cs
1 old ringbinder to bin0 -

Oh that hoarder programme!!! I have saved it on Sky+! I was laughing most of the time, altho it did upset me too. Felt very sorry for that chap. Wonder if they will do a follow up programme? I am going to email Ch4 and ask them... If enough people ask, I am sure they will
My DS watched it, mostly with his mouth wide open! He was horrified and I think he could see a bit of him and me in itIF we don't sort out our stuff!!!
If I am totally honest:o:o:o:o:o The carp on one side of my bedroom is now half way to being bed height... If I carry on as I am, its going to hit window ledge level
:o:o:o:o:o For gawd's sake don't quote my post as I may be back to [STRIKE]delete[/STRIKE] amend my post later :rotfl:
It doesn't help that the kids dump stuff in there.... Reminds me, I bought a latch hook so I AM going to screw that in today so they can't get in my room!!! Then I stand a half reasonable chance of getting it straight.
Declutter started today with the kitchen and, now I remember, I decluttered the dining table last night :T
Did you sort it all out yet?Illegitimi non carborundum.0 -

Thank you! You've got some pretty impressive numbers too!Hope you don't mind me joining in.
Today have decluttered my knicker drawer:o
Also been in the loft and sorted out clothes for ebaying.
Also boot full of clothes for the charity shop
More decluttering tomorrow, trying to gain the strength to tackle the garage:D
 and welcome julie67!Well done on all that you've managed today.suzeesu2000 wrote: »I think the trick is not to try and do too much in one day. I find if I write a list for a specific day I only manage one or two things on it. If I do them randomly from the big 'to do' list I find I achieve more.... strange that! Still, it works for me and I don't feel guilty if I don't achieve everything on that day's list.
Sorry, I'm rambling...... One Thing At A Time.... that's the secret to decluttering!!!
You are SO right loopychriss, I used to try decluttering all in one go and it was too big a task. Now I do bite sized bits and have made lots of progress. Got another lot of stuff packaged down from two boxes to just one. So clearing the space makes me feel dead chuffed! :j
We'll done every one:T:T
You could also give yourself a set amount of time,ie 30 minutes or 2 hours, whatever you fancy,to declutter one area/drawer/cupboard/room by setting your alarm or mobile to ring in the alloted space of time.
It can help you feel less bogged down in it all,and you do as much as you want and get a regular break!
I had a very busy day at work today.I can't even remember what new ideas to declutter I had yesterday.I mean to do something tomorrow as I've got the day off.

Bettie, I'm curious to know, have all the items you've decluttered since your move been left at your new house, or did you bring them along with you when you moved in? Good luck with the in-laws...!
Only asking because we're hoping to move and I'm trying to declutter as much as I can so we don't have to take it with us and try and find homes for it all! Hubby is reluctant to part with anything vaguely sentimental so it's a bit of an uphill struggle with some things.....
Anyway, today [STRIKE]I [/STRIKE]we decluttered:
115. Silver foil dish back to mum
116. Jigsaw - to mum and dad
117. Ball of black wool - to mum
118. About 300 photos that we don't want - bin
119. 30 sheets paper printed as inserts for mum's cardmaking
Also took the 2 fabric recycling bags up to mum (she sees a lady on Thursday who works in a charity shop and they can get cash for them), and decluttered some of my paper stock by printing some inserts for her cardmaking. I finished the curtains I started Saturday and also decluttered our granddaughter, but that's only temporary because she'll be back again next Sunday!Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Just read loopychriss decluttering her 300 photos; happily I did this during the cold winter evenings last year. Got two new albums off of another freegler and added some pages to another album then got stuck in. All photos are now sorted and stuck into albums. Lovely feeling to be organised, if only it would spill over into all my craft stuff, I just do not know where to put it all.
Soap making stuff covering two selves in alcove, big trolley with mix papers/decoupage master sheets/jewellery making stuff
Big bin with die cutter/LOADS of dies/plastic die height sleeves
Large cardboard box of glass jars for stringing & painting
Box of shells for decoration & candles
Box of glass paints
Two drawers under bed full of fabric
Big bin full of fabric
Three small bins full of patches for making up
Dare I go on?
Any bright ideas how to store it? I do now have any cupboards in my house, not one. Wardrobe is full of clothes and hubbies model collection (will be selling in a year or two when value has increased)
Am seriously stuck for how to store it all...:(Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal
