My BIL spends a LOT of time in hotels and *thinks* it his duty to collect all the toiletry stuff to bring home. My sister passes it to me - I look for (and find) useful home for it all - but this sounds perfect - I have 'shaving kits' and 'dental kits' at the moment -with razors and toothbrushed as well as other stuff - can you 'point' me in the direction of a chartity wehich might put surpluss hotel toiletries to good use?

Have you asked your local Salvation Army? Even if they haven't got shelter facilities at the moment, they can distribute stuff to those on the streets.

    Well done!:T

Yesterday I took some previously listed items to the cs etc.I also sold some previously listed dvds and cds. Then

-I also recycled a bag of nespresso capsules
    -15 more dvds to sell
-3 board games to the cellar
-2 unused photo albums to the cellar
-2 lots of paper packaging and some shredded paper recycled
    -2 jars to cellar
    -1 table decoration binned

    I think that makes 187/200.

    merrymary and welcome!
  • 56/100 in one go - boxes to recycling and bags of recycling out today. The recycle bin men even pointed at the heap in shock!

[QUOTE can you 'point' me in the direction of a chartity wehich might put surpluss hotel toiletries to good use?[/QUOTE]

Well, I give all mine to my friend who collects through her church for a homeless shelter in Whitechapel. They are always grateful for any toiletries.

No booze finished off today (yet...) may make a start on the Malibu over the weekend, or the Pernod, or the port...... got such a lot to choose from and I'm supposed to be cutting down!!!

    Outs today were:

    94. Paddling pool with sunshade - next door neighbour
    95. Loads of old curtains that I'll never use - fabric recycling
    96. Old hazard lamp, the sort that goes round roadworks - bin bag
    97. 3 old dustpans, cracked or otherwise useless - bin bag
    98. 2 rolls of freezer paper (used for quilting purposes) - going to my quilt group in August but neatly contained in a bag in the loft
    99. About £2,000 paid into 2 accounts for which I am Treasurer - glad that lot is out of the house, I don't like leaving money around
    100. 4 dried up pens - I was looking for a pen with blue ink this morning - took me 20 minutes and a lot of frustration before I found one that worked!

TV was picked up tonight by a freegler, so that's out the house, plus a big bag of charity shop stuff taken to Oxfam and a bag for the homeless shelter.

Got lots more to come as I haven't finished yet. Could save it for the August Abolition but as I want them gone asap I'll carry on with July.

Got someone coming to look at the house tomorrow morning (10.30) so won't get much done before then. Hope the skips in both our neighbours' drives don't put them off, or the house over the road that has been gutted and whose front garden looks like a building site!

Thank you....it's nearly time... I hope they turn up. We've been up since 8 tidying and cleaning (as you do).... Wonder what there is left to do for the rest of the day!!!

  • Things moved more slowly yesterday:
    1 thermos cup binned
    7 books recycled
    11 books to cs
    3 bookcases completely decluttered
    This morning:
    2 letters forwarded
2 tickets passed on through freecycle
1 bookcase completely emptied and out of the house!
I'm still aiming for the 1000 books out target for July, but it's so good to see such a difference already.

    Cor been busy!

Only sorted my clothes out last October, just found another few items to go.

426 - one ladies trouser suit cs
427 - one bedspread and pillowshams cs
428 - one cotton summer suit cs
429 - one three piece ladies summer suit cs
430 - one pair ladies trousers cs
    431 - one blanket cs
432/ 433 - two HUGE bags of old paperwork, shredded recycling bin

Actually found a hole too! Now filled by moving stuff and can see carpet on the floor  bedroom is almost there, just one more big black bin of craft stuff, this is the trouble when you don't have a spare bedroom and your house has absolutely no storage whatsoever, not even one cupboard for linens or the hoover even grrrrr! Still, am getting there. Have told hubby that his clothes are going to be sorted (with his help) on Monday....I didn't know he could speak a foreign language:rotfl:

Have a good one whatever you are doing.

You are doing so well, suzeesu2000. It's so much harder without the spare space, but oh, it does feel good when those holes appear. :)
