I've sent 10 parcels in the week so some stuff is getting out the door!
Hope you're feeling better soon.Take it easy.:)
Some great decluttering going on,well done everyone!
Yesterday I did some housework and only decluttered 2 knives to the cs,but I took up other already listed stuff too.
Today I've had a look at my Agatha Christie books-all 48 of them and have decided to keep them...for the time being.:o
TBH I'd rather get rid of other books, some of which I still mean to read first.0 -
Not much to report as I've been trying to do a bit more cleaning, the oven really needed it.
I hate to mention Christmas in July BUT I came across some old cards. I don't know if you're as sentimental as me but I had to look who sent them before binning. I even shed a tear, one from my sister who passed away last year :A0 -

I'll have a look at them first.I don't live in the UK,so they're not that easy to get hold of.There's only one charity shop here that sells English books.I do sometimes go through a phase of reading loads of her books, but obviously not for a while. They're so easy to read and if you wait a while, yoou forget whodunnit!
Is that just a feeble excuse?
No, if that's how you feel, and they wouldn't be too easy to get hold of again, keep them. I'm the same with John Grisham books, a lot of which my DS has bought me, and others I've picked up from car boot sales and charity shops, only read each of them once but probably won't get rid of them. I do have a lot of other books that I intend to get rid of once I've read them, it's just finding the time to read them, lol!Morning everyone,
I am not sure that this counts as decluttering but yesterday we went to visit OHs family and gave his sisters the 2 presents that had sat on the kitchen table for a week.
If it counts I am up to 103.
It's stuff that's gone out of the house, so I'd count them.
Hi loobylou, and welcome to the thread, there's nothing like impending renovations to get you to de-clutter! We had to clear out our loft a few months ago, because the council wanted to put more insulation up there, and I couldn’t believe the amount of carp we had up there! OH went up into the loft and just threw most of the stuff down the hatch, nearly flattened me a few times, lol, and we ended up with the whole of the landing, stairs, hall and bedrooms full of boxes (a lot of them empty, and including the boxes from both our computers and their accessories) and all sorts of god knows what, that I’d been reluctant to get rid of for years. I was surprised at how much I was able to let go of, including most of the baby stuff that I had for my DS (he was 30 last year, lol!), although I did keep a few bits, and all the empty boxes were taken to recycling. We now have hardly anything up there.
Good luck with getting it cleared in time, and I hope you can get the kids to help, it’s not fair for you to have to do it all, especially when you have such a tight deadline.I hate to mention Christmas in July BUT I came across some old cards. I don't know if you're as sentimental as me but I had to look who sent them before binning. I even shed a tear, one from my sister who passed away last year :A
I would keep the one from your sister. I used to keep all my cards, but now just keep the ones from family and close friends, and when I receive a new one from each person I throw away the one from the previous year, so if anyone passes away between one Christmas and the next, I will have the last one they sent, I do the same with birthday cards too. Like you, I always have to look to see who they're from before getting rid, and when I sorted out all the boxes of cards I'd kept for years I shed a lot of tears, before getting rid of most of them.
Well, I finally took the used batteries and envelopes to work on Monday (38), and yesterday I sorted out the top of OH’s wardrobe as it was a real mess. I found a few things that he has had bought for him but never used, so I’ve put them at the front so he can decide if he wants to keep and use them, or get rid. Found a very old street map (at least 15 years), (39) which is now in the recycling as we have the internet and sat nav if we need to find out how to get somewhere, not to mention the map is probably way out of date, lol! Also found some paperwork for filing/recycling, and everything is now nice and tidy in there.
Sold 4 items on ebay, including 2 big box computer games, all have been paid for but I can’t get to the post office until Friday, so I will count them when they have been posted.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Well yesterday was not so great I only produced a couple of bin bags full of clutter because I was feeling so ill. Feel a bit better now though so hopefully today will be more productive when I get started. The hospice have been and taken the ten bags of clutter which I produced on tuesday so its a start and DD1 tells me t hat she has decluttered the chest of drawers in her bedroom although I haven't seen the evidence yet!!!!! On the downside though OH is not happy and Is upset with me for giving away curtains which are brand new and still in their packets. I pointed out that the curtains would not fit our windows and that we need to get rid of everything but he's not having any of it. Situation probably not helped by me telling him that I wish he would show the same willingness to help me that he shows towards helping the neighbours!!!!! Am going to hire a skip again today and try to carry on with decluttering as much as I can. If OH Doesn't like it he can flaming well lump it!!!!! I've had enough.loobylou2.Proud to be dealing with my debts and aiming to sort out the mess in 2013!!!!:eek:0

Yippee first day of school summer holidays - DH went to the recycling depot/tip and got rid of loads of garden rubbish, very old computer stand, old duvet, cardboard and broken electrical stuff.
I have washed (3 loads) hoovered the landing, now it's decluttered and cleaned the dining room.
DH just about to take 2 chairs to the charity shop.
A good start.

Hi All, I hope you don't mind me joining in. We've just moved house and I'd like to get my new house nice and tidy unlike the old one which was cluttered and full of stuff I can't bear to part with. I'm a hoarder
Can't resist a bargain too, must stop looking in the grabbit board.
I've been ebaying way before moving day but it doesn't look like it's making a difference on the amount of clutter. I've been looking at the shabby chic thread and I'm soooo envious of their lovely creations, what a talented bunch! My aim is to just get the house in order and free up some space. 'A place for everything, everything in its place' I keep telling myself. How do I start, just make a list of everything that comes out of the house? Do we count the things that goes in the house. I remember there used to be a thread for making a list of IN's and OUT's.
Thank you xx
I've already binned, recycled, freegled and ebayed clothes, beds and mattresses, etc... but I will start my list from today. I aim to make a cover for my sofa but I need to find the fabric amongst the bags and boxes.
1 - vm box - bin
2 - single bed frame - ebay
3 - plastic drawers in metal frame - ebay0
