I was like this when I first had a dishwasher. I used to gaze at it in awe and listen to it working. Sometimes I would pat it :o

OH and I (him more than me) were like that with our tumble dryer, lol, we would stand in the hall (it's under the stairs) and watch it!

Went back to work today, so not much done, but this afternoon I did clear the hall table of some junk mail and leaflets (32) and decided to put an old tupperware thing (I think it's for getting pickles out of the jar), which was amongst a load of things I was given years ago and I've never used in CS box, (33) and tidied under the stairs, nothing gone from there but nice and tidy now.

  • Hi all,

Had a little Decluttering yday to add to my 11/100, in the box For the cs

    14-35 - 21 CDs (musicM wouldn't accept)
    36- a shirt

    38- cat bed
39,40,41 three fiction books (not worth going on @mazon etc)

Also have a box of CDs for MusicMag. Scanned them all on my phone but the list has vanished! Need to rescan them then I can add the number on here and get them posted!

Still a lot of sorting to do, getting a pile of stuff ready for another eBay session too. Might have another go tomorrow and see what other wonders I can dispose of :) had some furniture earmarked but need OH's help for that. Roll on next weekend.

Now up to 43/100. Would be great if I could exceed the target this month.

Hello I'd love to join in with this thread, I'm in the middle of a massive summer clearout because I've lost weight and am still on a diet and focusing on clearing the house keeps my mind off food! So far the last couple of months I've cleared out my wardrobe with over £200 made on ebay and several big bags taken to those shops that buy your old clothes (stuff that wouldn't be worth listing on ebay) I also listed some books on Amazon and traded in some others. Finally tonight I music magpied the remainder of mine and OH's cds and dvds to be dropped off in the morning. I've got another bag of books for donation to the local library and over $20 in US coins that I'm donating to charity.

My new wardrobe is so simple because I'm losing so much weight it's not worth buying anything til I reach target. I currently only own jeans, black trousers, 3 skirts, 5 vest tops, 1 t shirt, 3 blouses, 3 cardigans and 2 pairs of leggings I wear under my skirts. I even sold most of my shoes on ebay because weirdly my feet shrank from losing weight - and they were never fat  so I'm down to 2 pairs of pumps, 1 pair of heels and 1 pair of trainers. It makes getting ready and laundry so simple. I'm aiming to be a minimalist by the end of the year because shedding all this stuff is so liberating and lets me focus on who I really am not who my stuff is telling me I should be. I feel like getting rid of the excess is allowing me to get out of my comfort zone and challenge myself.

Anyway enough rambling.... tomorrow I'm off work so I'm going to drop off donations etc and also hopefully get through some old paperwork and list some more clothes and diet stuff on ebay.

I also have this disease and haven't yet worked up to tackling any de-cluttering of my crafts/fabric/cross stitch/general sewing stash but since joining this thread I haven't bought any new stash which I am counting as a significant achievement :rotfl:

Add me to the fabricaholic gang! Although am going great guns at decluttering and did throw out five carrier bags of unusable teeny weeny scraps last week, I also received two full sample books from Sandersons...:j all de-booked and folded. Am just painting a second hand blanket box and will then use one of the samples to recover it then all bedding & towels will go in box and all remaining fabric will go in drawer under the bed. Then have a big plastic bin and a huge cardboard box to throw out!

Finally cleaned out the pantry tonight. I lost count somewhere after 200 items were either flung in the bin or bagged up for charity.
So, my total so far is 320/150-and plenty of time this month to clear out more rubbish!!!
