My new washing machine beeps when it's finished! I'm a little bit in love with it. It has a timer too, so I have sofa throw all set to be washed, and it should go on around 5pm and be ready to hang out when I get home! I am stupidly excited by this machine! lol

I was like this when I first had a dishwasher. I used to gaze at it in awe and listen to it working. Sometimes I would pat it :o

Ahem.....on the first cycle, I sat in front of it and watched it for 10 mins! :o All, of course, in aid of ensuring that it worked correctly! :rotfl:

    More progress:

    33. Stereo to freegler
    34. Broken plastic cereal container - in the bin

DS is helping declutter in the kitchen. This is the good news. The bad news is we have to do it accompanied by loud heavy metal music.

  • I'm really loving the clean and tidy house look - almost looks like a show home but the novelty's beginning to wear off a bit! Still got all my clothes to tackle, also my fabric stash which is in the 3rd bedroom, loft, drawers under my side of the bed, and wardrobe in the spare bedroom! I'm a bit of a fabricaholic, but I must be realistic and realise that I will never ever use it all up by making quilts. I'm reluctant to let it go, but it will have to be decluttered. I have an acute case of SABLE: Stash Accumulated Beyond Life Expectancy!!!

I also have this disease and haven't yet worked up to tackling any de-cluttering of my crafts/fabric/cross stitch/general sewing stash but since joining this thread I haven't bought any new stash which I am counting as a significant achievement :rotfl:
  • Very slow start to the month due to work (inc. time away), the distraction of Wimbledon (thankfully only 2 weeks a year otherwise I would never get anything done) and visitors at the weekend.

However I haven't added anything unnecessary to the house and I have been doing a bit of "de-cluttering as you go" so that I do have a little progress to report.

    1. Green bin full of weeds and branches de-cluttering from overhanging trees and shrubs
2/3. Bag of shredded documents as a result of sorting through a desk drawer. Some of the items related to bank accounts I no longer have. Shredded paper into compost bin together with dead headed roses, peonies, poppies, daisies etc all destroyed by the heavy wind and rain :(
4 - 8. Assorted toys reclaimed by grandchildren and taken home (with a little encouragement from me)
9 - 12. Assorted unopened toiletries passed to DS and partner
    13 - 14. 2 items sold and mailed
15 - 19 clothing items into charity bag (as I wash things I am deciding whether to put them back into the wardrobes or drawers or pass them on)
    20 - 25 Toiletries/cleaning items used and not replaced

So 25/100 with hardly any effort (apart from the physical effort of the gardening of course)

I could also include the de-cluttering of an ant invasion but as I used my stock of ant powder and have bought more I won't count this

You just reminded me that we realised this weekend, that we had 3 irons! Yep, 3. 2 have been chucked. One had plastic melted all over the metal bit (I don't know - it was OH's before he met me), and the other was killed by the leaking water from the airco.

How on earth did we end up with 3???

the amount of stuff ive managed to shift is beyond belief.
2 tvs, clothes, plastic containers to say the least.
plus managed to sift through and shred a mountain of paperwork.
still got some to sort, and even though the bulk is sorted it still a work in progress.
