My Oh said this morning-'...there's a carboot on today, d'ya fancy going?' Yes but I can't the point is I'm trying to de-clutter and if I go I'll end up bringing stuff back we don't really need and the house will never look any better. Typical bloke, he moans when it's cluttered, he wants me to re-clutter when I've de-cluttered!!! sometimes i feel I can't win really.
I'm going to busy myself sorting stuff out-not buying more stuff.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Big ebay day for me today - relisting 66 cd's that haven't sold yet and listing the last box. Have got rid of about 20 so far, all for about £1 each. Will list them for free a few times and send the rest of music magpie.
Old TV is being picked up today. Can I count the remote as another item?! I've also realised that I have loads of half used bottles of shampoo and creams etc. Going to concentrate on one at a time and get rid of them!GC: Jan £118.67/£175

Hi All,
I've found the Jettison in June challenge so helpful in actually making the decision, then out it goes. I shall be away for a few days next month, but think I can aim for 1000 books/magazines and 150 other items. Maybe I won't get there but that's not going to stop me trying. I am also aiming to declutter 20 areas - they may be small but they will be defined. I work well with lists so in preparation I'm going to make a list of those areas, then off to a good start from tomorrow.
Now who was talking about "messy"? :rotfl:0 -
Hi all, Silentsister's rather noisier niece here. It appears cluttering runs in our family, so I'd really like to join in for July as well please. I'm setting a taget of 100, and am really not going to put off getting rid of things today just because they don't count towards my total!Make £2025 in 2025 challenge #21

It's a great motivator to see the numbers go up!
sue14 I forgot to say the other day, hope that you're feeling better
Much better than I was, thanks, still aching around my lower back and right hip/leg, and still feeling groggy from the medication, but no scream inducing spasms now!My Oh said this morning-'...there's a carboot on today, d'ya fancy going?' Well done for resisting the lure of the car boot!
Hi and welcome to the newbies, this thread is a great motivator, and so is gradually seeing some space, lol!
I finally went back to work on Thursday, and took with me a pile of used envelopes. Earlier in the week I used the last toilet cleaning tablet (which has been in a box, on a shelf in the bathroom, for years), and threw the packaging in recycling, and this morning I have put the week's newspapers (and some from the previous week) into recycling, along with some junk mail. A pathetic attempt this month, but I'll let myself off as I've hardly been able to move for the last 2 weeks, lol!
OH and I are now off work for the next week, so hopefully we'll get something done in the shed, but it depends on how I feel and what the weather is like. He said he will do the shed, but I need to go through it otherwise he'll just take everything to the dump, lol, and I can't have that! Maybe I'll get him to get everything out, and I'll sit and go through it, but it depends if I can do it without too much bending, otherwise I'm likely to set my back off again and I certainly don't want that!

Took the drawers from the bedbase and the rusty old bathroom bin and shelves to the tip today. Tomorrow, we take the bed base and the old mattress.
We get the keys on Monday and removals come on Tuesday.

Tuesday is D day for the pantry-It's awful. so much stuff I can't see the wood for the trees. I would say about 75% if what is in there has not seen the light of day for years. So i obviously don't need it.
How many plastic takeaway cartons does one need? we seem to have well over 50and that's just what I can physically see.
We bought a coffee machine a few years ago. We've used it a handful of times but it's bulky and cumbersome so it's going to have to go. I've got a breadmaker too-somewhere in the pantry. Not used it for so longso it's going too.
