Did you check them first!!

-2 books to cs
-8 magazines to cs
-1 old manky mop head binned
-14 jars of HM jam/mincemeat down to the cellar

I weighed myself too,which gave me a big shock,as I'm about 5kgs more than I thought.:eek:So I'm now on an sensible eating plan...0 -
My collection of every travel ticket since October 2006 is being consigned to the recycling as we speak. Why have I kept them?
I bought a nice solid cardboard box from paperchase today which I am going to decorate. If letters, postcards and cards don't fit in there then I'm not having them!
Decided to do another carboot on sunday if it's not raining so another quick wizz round this week to get some more stuff together.

No I didn't check them first but I've had similar before and I know what it tastes like - enough to make you heave!
18. a scented candle that I didn't like the scent of but refused to throw away before as I had paid a fair amount for it.
I realise my efforts are quite paltry next to everyone else's but I am working at the same time (not to imply that no-one else is) so I am not really concentrating on doing a tidy-up; rather I am just tidying up things as I go past them. That's why it's only one or two things here and there.
I really need to go through my bedding at some stage. I love bedding and have so many sets, some of them really old - I really need to do a purge. I also need to go through my recipe books (and to discipline myself to stop buying more) and my stationery collection - two major weaknesses of mine!0 -
Sue14, hope you feel better soon.
Fairyclicks, well done for making £207 on the car boot sale.
I have made £20 this weekend for selling 2 shelves only another 6 left to sell now. Garden was tidied up this weekend and then the garden bin was emptied this morning. My OH initiated to my surprise to tidy up in the garage over the weekend so quite a few bits and bobs were thrown out or recycled.
Well done to everyone for your decluttering efforts. No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j0 -
Note to self: stop buying carp and then you won't have to declutter so much.
Am slowly losing the will. Exactly one week until we move now. Everything pretty much done this end now, but I'm very tired now. At least I shouldn't get to the unpacking at the other end and think to myself 'why did I pack that?'
Lol.
Thanks for the inspiration guys! Can I have a bit more please to tide me over for the rest of the week?Illegitimi non carborundum.0 -
Lots of 'keep going' vibes and inspiration coming your way BettiePage
73. Coconut flavour lip gloss *gags* - in the bin. Coconut is one of the few flavours I can't stand. How it got in my house is a mystery!
74. Birthday card & little pressie to colleague
Hope everyone has a good day x*If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Martin Luther King Jr0 -
Congratulations to Museumworker (I'm only just catching up with posts). Decluttering with a new infant in the house is a real challenge - babies just seem to attract "stuff" (or is that just me, my family and friends?)
Some great efforts being reported here and they are encouraging me to keep going.
57/58 2 bibs to Charity Shop
59 ancient pair of knickers into bin (as I get things out of my underwear drawer now I am asking myself "would they pass Grandma's test?" which was "would you be ashamed to be wearing them if you were in an accident?". Suspect there will be lots more chucking out as I get to the bottom of the drawer.
60/61 2 chipped fridge magnets into bin
62/65 plastic bottles into recycling. I recycle all the time and don't normally count the general items that would always have been recycled. However I realised that I have amassed a collection of plastic water bottles - I fill them with filtered water and store them in the fridge instead of buying bottled water all the time - very :money: and now that I am on the look out for clutter I noticed 4 empty bottles on the kitchen worksurface because the fridge was full. So out the extra ones went
66 Photo frame used for photo of new niece and now on display instead of part of general clutter
67/68 2 items which sold at the weekend mailed (using packaging from stash so double decluttering impact)
69/70 2 old pens binned
71 Big bag of shredded paperwork into compost heap
72 Even bigger bag of out of date paper into recycling (collected today)
73 Pile of paperwork which needs to be kept filed away
These last 3 took ages and although they only represent 3 items on my list I am really pleased to have done it. Now can I keep on top of paperwork and shred or file as it comes into the house or has been actioned ????
So that makes my current total
73/139
I'm pretty confident I will be able to make the 100 for June but the carry over from May will take some serious effort this weekend (and we are out all day Sat and have visiters Sun)
Thanks to everyone for the inspiration

Hi all, thanks for the good wishes re my sciatica, and Marmiterulesok, thanks for the advice but I do know from previous back and sciatica problems that it's best not to sit. I have been doing a lot of laying down and sleeping (especially since being on the meds as I feel too zonked to do anything else, lol!), and have used your tip of putting a pillow between/under my legs. I'm feeling a little better at the moment, and am just about to lay down on the sofa for an afternoon of tennis, hopefully I won't fall asleep like yesterday, lol! I'm supposed to be back at work on Thursday so hopefully I'll be ok for that.
I was pleased with myself of Saturday night, as we went to MIL's and I said no to her offer of a pile of magazines, I normally take them and they gather dust for ages before I get around to reading them! OH and I are both off work for a week next week, so hopefully I'll be fit enough for us to tackle the big shed, weather permitting of course!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Congratulations, museumworker, on your new baby.
I've been a bit MIA as the decluttering has slowed right down but I have been finding a few bits and bobs.
73. Plastic food storage container (gone brittle and split) binned.
74. Another bag of green waste to the tip.
75. Bag full of milk bottle lids to recycling.
76. Manky old pillow - binned.
77. Old fridge taken away (and replaced with new one).
I'm pretty sure I can't make the Jettison 100 in June tarpet but I shall keep on keeping on and we'll see how it ends.
Keep up the good work, peeps.
Jettison 100 in June
