And so it continues... here's to a magically decluttered house in March. This month, I will be aiming for a total reduction of 100 items. I will keep a tally of ins and outs so that I don't end up bringing more in than I'm throwing out
.
Let's start the day off.
Ins: 0
Outs: Cubs letter and cheque. Tub of wax and all it's packaging. Let's hope that I manage more later.

Can I join for March?
I have been decluttering since before Christmas but still have loads to go. I am going to aim for 100 things in fortnight as baby no3 is due on the 19th March! I am determined to have the house organised before he/she arrives.
I have some ebay parcels to post later and some things to take to the CS. I will post a total later.
Good luck everyone!0 -
I don't want it to go quiet either! I'm guilty of posting then spending the next week or so reading and thanking posts but not updating as I can't remember what my previous total was and can't be bothered to search for my last post....oops. DD1 and I made a list as we decluttered so why I didn't just tick off where I'd got up to I don't know, would have made things a lot easier! From now on I'll be doing that so will hopefully have more shorter posts rather than a few long ones. Think that will help with the motivation! I love coming on here to see how everyone is getting on with their challenge, and what sort of stuff you've decluttered (cos I'm nosey!) but then I end up sat on my bum on here rather than actually doing anything
Anyway, February finished with:
126. Pile of filing from accounts/insurances box file thing - shreadded & recycled
127. Pile of filing from bills etc box file thing - shreadded & recycled
Included in that is the stuff I actually got round to filing away too!
127/100 in February
March starts with:
1. 3 x OOD catalogues found in conservatory - Argos & 2 Tesco Direct (been in there since the girls picked them up in Sept, they NEEDED one each but never once looked through them..sigh)
1/100 in March well it's a start lol :rotfl:Extra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000
Original MF date Feb 2025. Currently Feb 2030:eek: Aiming for Jan 2025 :TMortgage at [STRIKE]10/19 - £47,200[/STRIKE] 11/19 - £46,615:heart:My girls keep me going0 -
2 tins of car spray paint used on spraying my drain pipes. 1 big bag of weeds in the green bag. It's so lovely outside, I just thought I'd get on and spray the darn things, I need the space the tins are taking up to be able to put my hoover away
. I have 16 tins left! Hopefully it'll be nice weather this weekend and I can get on and do a bit more.
1 Avon catalogue in. 5 out/ 1 in= 4/100 outsDebt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Hey all hope you don't mind me joining your thread? I've recently become unemployed and have decided to use my time between jobs and start another declutter! I had a massive declutter last year (probably sold most of the stuff I owned lol) It worked well though as the year long carboot sales and ebaying paid off when I was able to pay for my dream 5 star holiday with only having to put £1000 towards it (£4,000 came from carboot sales, ebay, odd weekend jobs as a photographer and a few savings)
Have started this morning starting with the kitchen. Not worried about how much money I make (although would obviously be a bonus) I think I sold my most valuble stuff last year so this years focus is to just get the house in a state where I would be happy to have family pop over for a drink and not worry about the state of the place!
My ultimate goal is to have my auntie and uncle round for an evening as we have only recently got back in touch since I was a small child andthe closest they have got to my house is dropping me off outside (a bit embarasing that I have yet to offer them in for tea)Life is what you make it.0 -
I have been to the post office and charity shop so here is the list so far.
1-6: 6 parcels posted.
7: 2 pictures to CS
8: a skirt to CS
9: 4 books to CS
Total so far 9/1000 -
I will join in for March too. I lost track counting in Feb. I know I got rid of over 100 items tough as sold 30+ on eBay, Music magpied a boxful and tipped two carloads too, and that was just the big things!! The house is looking better and I am starting to feel more organised. I have almost got to the bottom of my ebay pile now. Have a few things that haven't sold so I will be putting it all on as a joblot/carboot lot so hopefully it will all go. I have another two large boxes worth to ebay but that is spring/summer clothes/bits so I will start listing these this month as the weather starts getting better.
Today I have decluttered-
1-6. Manky old bath toys
Also have some ebay parcels pending as awaiting payment so hopefully they can go tomorrow.0 -
Sadly my house still doesn't look that much different  Our dumping ground looks a lot better but the rest doesn't. I think I have finally got my mum on board as she wants me to eBay some stuff for her. I've still go over 100items to finish ebaying so no idea when I will get round to it! I have no idea how we fit so much stuff in this house sometimes!
My new printer just arrived from the most miserable looking Yodel delivery driver.0 -
Please don't go quiet I'm only just beginning my decluttering.
My total for February was 40/100 ,but as I only started on the 21st February I'm really pleased.
Lots more to go aiming for 100 items again in March, that's only between 3 & 4 items a day.
If my decluttering for March could just involve sorting paperwork that would make such a difference.
I think I will have some aims for March.
1 - file 100 pieces of paper already in the house
2 - deal with the post each day - file shred or bin
3 - keep the dining room table free of piles of paper
4 - do not put paper/ toys /stuff that has accumulated in the lounge/ dining room/ kitchen into a carrier bag when expecting visitors, put it away properly
That will do for starters
Happy declutterin to everyone for March
Jarus xx
These sound like great "aims" and may have to pinch one, two or four
Keep up the great work
