Oh dear, can you elaborate more on this. I have often thrown pics out.
Hi
yes sure: photo paper and negatives contain all sorts of nasties chemicals etc they also contain things like silver, really they shouldnt be put into the bin but as facilities for treating this kind of waste arent readily available its probably the only place to put them. If the waste in your area is treated by burning - incineration plant its probably best as the heat from these plants are recovered for energy so less environmental impact (believe it or not) least env. impact would be reuse, or reduce - take digital photos and only print the ones you really want copies of.
things will always go in the bin like batteries and other hazardous waste its one of those things - as a recycling officer wierdest thing I ever saw in the bin was a dead alsatian dog!DMP 2021-2024: £30,668 £0 🥳

Afternoon All
I have had a very slow week with little decluttering but the good news is I now have a few days off work so can get cracking. Bad news is that I now have a chest infection/cold and feel like carp and Aunt Flo has decided to make an unscheduled visit so I feel grumpy too - a good job that kids are at Uni and not at home.:o:mad::D
I have tried to clear up the manky kitchen this morning so now I will start tackling some of the bags brought from the old house. Tomorrow I will be over there trying to clear it so that it can go on the market by next weekend - hmmm tall order that!
Will post later if I manage to chuck anything out:o

I started the huge task of sorting out paperwork yesterday. We have a filing cabinet in the garage that I am actually going to use. I currently hoard paperwork under my bed and there is paperwork under there thats almost 10 years old
. I have also sorted some more items to list on ebay over the weekend.
Got rid of 3 binbags of clothes at recycling centre a few weeks ago, but I will go through everything again this week as the school also holds a clothes collection to raise money.🎄PAYDBXMAS21 #11 £11,300/£11300

Thanks for the extra info. I am ashamed to say I don't know where my waste goes so don't know if it's incinerated or not. I did shred my pics (tried burning them at home; not a good idea.:eek:). I just have digital pics now, so I suppose it won't come up as often.
Out of interest, what happens to the paper that is recycled. I try to [STRIKE]get away with
[/STRIKE] put in stuff I hope will be recycled like paper bags, but oftne wondered if they get sorted out at the destination. I would truly love to know.
I do recycle batteries; I have those little plastic bags especially for them, though can't remember where I got them.
Sorry you found a dead dog. I know back in the old days of the 60's people would just dump their dead pets in the bin.
I actually think your job is very interesting; I would love it. Apart from the dead dog.0 -
