You're making me hungry Kirri
On the potato topic, the Love Potatoes website has some great tattie recipes (lovepotatoes.co.uk) and the Love Food Hate Waste website has a really handy function where you can search by an ingredient (lovefoodhatewaste.com)
I fancy a bolognaise myself now but I have no (Quorn) mince in stock!! I did bolognaise with soup before when Morrisons did their cheap xmas meal deal with the free tomato and basil soup, came out quite well
Will have a look at those links myself, am always looking for ways to use veg. The vegbox recipe site also has a search by veg item recipe function which I find useful.0 -
oooo yes cottage pie all of us eat that too!!!
Thanks to you lot I have now had a NSD! and with the 8 tins of soup means I will save £5.20 in not buying Bolognaise sauce......even more if I'm able to save half the bol mixture? Can I keep it in the fridge and reheat tomorrow? I always get confused about reheating meat0 -

You could add to pasta and tuna, the tomato and basil one should go well I think, so you're making it as a sauce, make with spaghetti instead of pasta for a twist. These can be frozen along with portioned and taken to work and it is really simple and easy to do
You could parboil potatoes and then stick them in the oven with a soup of your choice, again as a sauce but more of a potato bakeCredit Card: £796 Left/£900 October 2011 :eek:Store Card: £100 October 2011

I don't eat meat anymore so been a long time since I cooked it but if it's fresh and cooked it should be fine to remake into something tomorrow or even freeze in portions?
If you have any dried chilli or even buy 1 fresh one you could add the sweetcorn and turn it into a chilli (could add 1 cheap tin of beans to pad it out/make it more realistic).0 -

Alot of my friends use soups as a cheat in cooking for example as a base in their stews, quiches, pies and pasta sauces.
To be honest I haven't bought tin soups for ages and was shocked at the cost of them. I remember when you could get atleast 3 branded tins for a £1 now your lucky if you can get 1 tin for that.
Oh I do remember a friend used 1 tin of tomato soup to make a tasty cake if that helps.0
