Hello Mrs H, glad to see you are back and ok. I totally understand about needing to get away from it all. I disappeared for a bit too, mainly due to lack of time but also due to lack of wanting to think about my lack of money. Back on track now but probably going to take me a while to get used to posting regularly again.

Hi HappyNow,
Just been reading your MSE journey since last January. Hope you haven't forgotten that you cut up Christmas cards in January to use as tags for this Christmas?. Though I ought ot remind you as you thought you might forget:):).
I have subscribed to see you on your journey. I too have not totally enlightened hubby on our situation. He knows we are in debt and we have to budget carefully, but he seems happy not knowing the full details, and I am happy not to tell him. I am the spender usually anyway, no him.
I look forward to joining you through 2013 to see how you get on.
Merry Christmas xx0 -

Thanks for the messages!
Steph - I had completely forgotten my gift tags (as expected) BUT, thanks to your reminder, I have now located them and they are very, very pretty and so much better than shop-bought ones. Thanks for reading and I'm pleased you will be joining me for 2013. It's going to be quite the year for both of us!:)
Well, Master Happy is now home from uni and has NOT lost his appetite while he's been away. Little Miss Happy was due home today but phoned to say she's been offered 8 hours work today (she has a part-time job in the local supermarket) and couldn't turn that down so will travel home tomorrow instead.
It's been a spendy day. The tenant of our rental house reported a few repairs that needed doing. We've been there most of the day and had to buy a new extractor fan for the kitchen and some tools/parts to repair faulty taps, totalling £95. There was also a slate loose on the roof and Mr H couldn't do that himself so we had to buy a roofer-man. It only took him half an hour, but I bet the bill is around £60-£70. We could have done without the expense so close to Christmas, but it's important to look after good tenants, and she is really nice, always pays the rent on time and keeps the house clean and tidy.
So it's been quite a stressful day and as a result I am now half-way down a bottle of the cheap wine I bought during the last Tesco 25% off deal. Apologies for my spelling/grammar/punctuation but it's 13% abv and I'm rather out of practice! Off for a lie-down now......:)
