Rah Rah Rah, Dolphin, Joey and JVR! Everyone seems to be launching themselves into Awesome August and the Super-Supporters Club with great vim and vigour and I'm scuffling around here not getting anywhere. I'll be back when I can dream up some targetty things that I have some hope of achieving. Hmm. *thinks*
    Better is good enough.

What do you use to measure your step count? I think I might ask for a fitbit for my birthday but might get a cheapo lil pedometer till then

JVR - if you look on the freebies board, you can often find places that are giving away Pedometers. Are you using My Fitness Pal to track your calories? If so be aware that whilst the food calories are pretty accurate, it does tend to exaggerate calorie burn if you are using their presets. Its not a great deal, and probably doesn't matter if you've only used that from the start, but you would notice a change when you switch to a fitbit to calculate instead.

I'm still working on some other targets but I have some monthly monetary ones at the moment. I always have one that keeps my bank balance straight and I've added two savings accounts - one to avoid bank charges on my current account, and one which attracts 6% interest. Obviously the first will feed the other, but I need to get a reasonable balance in them to avoid issues.
The other targets are going to be about getting the rest of the stuff out of the house. Whilst a lot has gone, there is still stuff in 3 rooms and stuff on the landing that needs either to be elsewhere (where I'm not sure) or donated/recycled/tip.
The job of doom is on its way, just waiting on some queries, and its sister faraway job of doom is halfway through but has stalled due to yet again being asked to buy things that are unobtainable in this country. I do wonder why clients don't know what they sell where - seems very odd to me.

Maybe just one target if you aren't feeling that enthused this month? Just so that you feel like you are making some progress with something which always gives a bit of a boost.

Thank you, I would be telling fibs if I said it had been easy but then I guess that's the point of setting these targets.

What do you use to measure your step count? I think I might ask for a fitbit for my birthday but might get a cheapo lil pedometer till then

I have a Fitbit Charge (courtesy of Tesco vouchers) and I love it as it measures other things as well (stairs climbed, minutes of activity, sleep quantity/quality). I have never used a pedometer before so I can't compare it to anything else. OH has the one with the heart rate monitor on but I wasn't fussed about that. Having them has definitely encouraged us to do more walking especially OH who was very inactive before.

You seemed to have a good day yesterday. One less cigarette is progress :T.

There are definitely a lot of targets in there somewhere :D. Maybe you could concentrate on just a couple of things this month?

Honey - you guys are all practically years into this I have spent the last 6 months on the sofa eating chocolate!
Thanks Joey - started using a different app to measure calories I didn't like my fitness pal and it has link to a calorie burning app which I did think was overestimating as especially cycling it doesn't take account of hills - going to work down the hill and coming home up the hill definitely does not burn the same amount! Thanks will have a look free is always cheaper than better.
Impressed with money targets - I really should try get some :/

I see what you mean but essentially its make an additional £112 a month. And clear all the stuff out of 3 rooms.

The job of doom isn't really a target, just something to be dealt with - and survived. And I'm hoping to break it down into 4 littler jobs this time so it doesn't overwhelm.
