:hello: Morning HappyNow et al!
joeyjimbles, your neighbour sounds as inconsiderate as some of ours!
Update for yesterday...
1) To have 14 NCDs - No NCD so I finished on target at 14 NCDs after my last ditch effort over the last week :j. I actually lost 4lbs over the last week although I haven't lost any more overall because I was just losing what I had put back onbut anything that I lose from here on in will be additional weight loss.
2) To walk an average of 10,000 steps per day over each week (so 70,000 total for each week) - Just under 6,000 bringing my total for the week to 72,519 (an average of 10,359 per day) :j.
3) To put my light out by 11pm every night including weekends - Light out at 11.00pm :j.
A bright new month starts today. Is everyone ready with their targets? I'll be back later to post mine.

Hi everyone and thanks for the lovely welcome!
Happy - thanks would love to join in goal setting, think limiting the cigarettes and setting that money aside is a good idea.
Joey - Thank you!
Honey - absolutely agree my biggest regret in life is the day I started - also gonna try your idea of delaying my first one as I can see how that might help.
Dolphin - Thanks, I had suffered from anxiety and depression when I was a teenager and I can feel myself calming now but it had been a very difficult 6 months. Annoyingly I know the nicotine makes my anxiety a lot worse but its a vicious circle of reaching for it when anxious and it making it worse.
So my august goals!
1. Cut down to 10 cigarettes a day ( I know seems a lot still but I have been smoking so much recently it is still a big cut down!!)
2. Walk the dogs every day after work (my OH takes them on a morning and sometimes I get lazy and just throw balls in the garden instead of walking them later)
3. Keep cycling to work every day (easy one as it is lovely route and I HATE the bus!)
4. Stick to 1700 calories on non cycling days and 2000 on cycling days
5. Two weight training days a weekDebt: £14,000 now £2169Emergency Fund: 1000/ £1000:j0 -
Welcome again jvr and well done you for jumping in with a set of very challenging targets. I don't know how you will ever find time to smoke any cigarettes with everything else that you have set yourself to do
.
Regarding the above, I had quite bad anxiety for two years and during that time there were many times that I thought things were 'calming' but I now realise that it was just the calm before the storm each time. Eventually, I had one panic attack that was the straw that broke the camels back and ended up at the doctors. They referred me for the CBT and in the end I wished I had gone to the doctors sooner instead of trying to handle it myself. I am not saying that this is what you should do by any means as it is none of my business and you can feel free to tell me to butt out but I just wanted to let you know my experience of anxiety in case it may help. Although, you never know, CBT may show you how to manage your anxiety without reaching for the cigarettes. It's actually quite difficult for me to talk about the whole thing even anonymously as it was such a hard time in my life but things are on the up now so it's time to put it in the past. I'll say no more now except take care!

4) To lose 10lbs over the course of the month (there, I've said it now so it has to be done).

Hi all, I will have some targets this month, just need to think how to word them meaningfully and measurably.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300
Renewal 25 £500.00/£500.00 InsH 12.25 £600/£600.00 InsP 03.26 £150/£150.00
NPt 12.25 £150.00/£051.50 Ins/TC 02.26 £550/£470.00
YX25 £1500/£0750 FD £3600/£0600
PX25 £1500/£0625 P6m £1200/£0800 PEa £100/£0600 -
I'm hoping if I can get some of these goals to become habits I can then concentrate on some of the bigger stuff I need to sort out.
Thanks Dolphin, I had never really thought about something like CBT and how it might help the anxiety and some of the other bad habits that seem to go along with it. Will add book a doctors appointment to my list as your right better to look at getting help while I'm coping a bit better than wait for a crash!
As you can tell weight loss is a big one in my goals - reading your posts you have done very well! I need to see it as a long term plan not lose as much as possible quickly and then pile it back on again - which I have done this year!Debt: £14,000 now £2169Emergency Fund: 1000/ £1000:j0 -
joeyjimbles - I can't wait to hear your targets
.
jvr - I hope that you don't think I was being pushy about the CBT. Also, I know what you mean about seeing weight loss as a long term plan. This is the first month that I have actually set a weight loss target but that's just because I am going on holiday in September and need a boost in my weight loss, generally I'm happy to see any loss at all

Morning everyone!
Dolphin - not at all! made me think about something that has been in the back of my mind for a while to look into!
1. Cut down to 10 cigarettes a day - Erm - probably about 14 oops
2. Walk the dogs every day after work - Wow I am not doing well I was exhausted so played ball in garden instead which is bad because I could have at least trotted them about for 15 min
3. Keep cycling to work every day - Done
4. Stick to 1700 calories on non cycling days and 2000 on cycling days - 2062 not too bad since I had a glass of wine in support of a sad sister so really not my fault and just being caring (wont go red don't know why?!)
5. Two weight training days a week - not yet but Monday is tiring enoughtDebt: £14,000 now £2169Emergency Fund: 1000/ £1000:j0 -

3. Keep cycling to work every day - Done plus extra 10 mile done at work to go visit a site
4. Stick to 1700 calories on non cycling days and 2000 on cycling days - 2118 calories but an extra 400 burned on top of normal cycling
