    Update for yesterday...

    1) None eaten :j. Yay!
    2) Just over 12,000 steps :j (most of them in the rain). Wow! Talk about devotion to duty, and above and beyond and all that. Just wow.
    3) Light off at 11.30pm :o. *tsk tsk*
    4) No spends on other people :j. Well done.

Really not feeling it today but will soldier on.

You're probably weren't feeling it because of the lights out thing. I always think I'll get away with it, that it won't matter and I always feel like carp the next day. Still, you've been doing so well this month I think we can sweep that one under the carpet.

Great to see you poting again, Joey. Enjoy half term.

 Happy. I hope things are calming down.
    Better is good enough.

I think you were right, I was really tired yesterday but had an early night last night and feel much better today. It just goes to show that the lights out target has been set for a good reason.
  • Update for yesterday (despite the fact that I was tired)...

    1) None eaten :j.
    2) Just under 12,000 steps :j.
    3) Light off at 10.15pm :j.
    4) No spends on other people :j.

I'm quite pleased with how this week has gone and can see a difference on the scales. I have a meal out tonight so I am going to have to be extra good today and over the weekend if I don't want to jeopardise what I have achieved this week. Not sure I'll be able to resist dessert tonight though :o.

    • Meal plan from existing stocks as much as possible every week. Shopping list written alongside meal plan for next week. I like this system. Dolphin, we have exactly the same meals four nights a week every week because we love them, it's the other three that are mix and match. I now have a list of about a dozen meals that I can slot in those nights, some of which OH cooks (omelettes, he's brilliant at them) and some only I can cook (spiced bean burgers). It means he can choose what he wants to cook or eat sometimes - yesterday the choice was spag bol or chipolatas, both from the freezer. The other alternative would be to have a two week meal plan, or just slot one extra meal idea in and move everything forward a day. Has your OH got any suggestions for meals he's like added? Is he willing to cook one night a week? I seem to remember seeing a three week meal plan at a school once, which seemed like a good idea.
    • Clear desk gibble daily Auntie May's tea service has been temporarily boxed so it's off the desk. It's been in the attic ever since I was given it, about 23 years ago. On Sunday I served chocolate mousse in it, which felt really good. And yes, I did wash it up before it was used. Honestly, the things people think about my lack of Flying ....
    • Stop ****ing swearing. Fine £1 a word for each ****ing occurence I think yesterday was the first swear free day so at least sometimes thinking before I open my mouth is starting to happen.
    • Identify and contact five outlets for each working day in February, so that's 21 in all One more call made, One more sample pack sent out - I like a 100% hit rate. Next county next week. And you're right, Dolphin, it's taken two years to make me pick up the phone and cold call, and despite it being a targetty goal thing several times last year it just never got done. I think this is my last chance, really because I'm going to have to splash out a bit more money this year if I want to carry on with it as a busines idea and I wanted the spendy thing to be fully worthwhile - which means finding more customers.
    • 15 minutes s a day flying five days a week. Helps if you turn the fridge off before you try to defrost the icebox. I thought it was taking rather longer than usual.
    • No sugary stuff one day a week for the first week, two days a week for the second week, three days a week in Week 3 and four days a week in Week 4. Sugar-free and very, very boring as a result. I might resort to peanut butter later; it seems to be that or cheese. This will not be a weight-loss month, obviously.
    • No computer after 9.00 pm (except my ipod so that I can choose my night-time listening) and lights out by 11.30 pm Success at last.
    • 5 fruit and veg a day Thank goodness for beetroot juice.
    • Electric toothbrush once a day. Done.
    Better is good enough.

Thanks Honey Bear, our meal plan is already fortnightly and like yours it is only fixed for four (sometimes five) nights per week so that we can be a bit more relaxed on Friday and Saturday nights. OH doesn't so much moan about having the same thing (he wouldn't dare) but he does comment however when I ask him if there is anything in particular he would like he has no ideas at all.

OH would be happy to prepare tea occasionally although I have more time and I am very conscious of what we are eating to get a balanced diet so I try and keep him away from the kitchen as much as possible. His idea of a meal would be pizza and chips or cottage pie and chips or pretty much anything with chips and loads of carbs.

    Update for yesterday...

    1) Chocolate pudding with ice cream for dessert last night at the meal :).
    2) Just under 14,000 steps :j.
    3) Light off at 11.00pm but it was Friday so it doesn't matter :j.
    4) Sent the £10 birthday money to my niece but it was in the budget so no extra spends on other people :j.

Honestly, Dolphin, if you weren't posting I don't think I would, so thank you so much for keeping me on the straight and narrow.

 Happy. I hope things are okay with you - sending you *coping vibes* in case you need some.
    • Meal plan from existing stocks as much as possible every week. Nothing to add.
    • Clear desk gibble daily I don't mind a bit of clutter building up on the weekends - it all gets scooped up first thing Monday morning and dumped in the in tray. Must go through that at some point.
    • Stop ****ing swearing. Fine £1 a word for each ****ing occurence Just in case I'm letting the odd word slip out I'll bung in some shrapnel, but honestly I don't think I have sworn over the past two or three days. Oddly, when someone I'm used to having free and frank conversations with dropped in the other day I noticed they were swearing and I wasn't and I felt a bit guilty, which was totally weird.
    • Identify and contact five outlets for each working day in February, so that's 21 in all No phone calls due on weekends. Good-oh. The truth of it is now that I've started this humungeously dreaded job it's nowhere near as grim as I thought it would be - isn't that always the case? Two years I've been procrastinating. Thanks Happy - without your thread I would probably never have got past this dreaded job, and whatever the final outcome - that's another fear conquered. :j

    • No sugary stuff one day a week for the first week, two days a week for the second week, three days a week in Week 3 and four days a week in Week 4. First week that should have been totally sugar-free but wasn't quite - 0.9kg lost. Does rather go to show just how much of the pure white and deadly I was eating, especially as I've allowed myself to scoff cheese when I had sugar cravings.
    • No computer after 9.00 pm (except my ipod so that I can choose my night-time listening) and lights out by 11.30 pm No computer, so that's helpful.
    • 5 fruit and veg a day Tick. Fridays and Saturdays are usually my weakest days, so I'm chuffed with that.
    • Electric toothbrush once a day. Not done; pure laziness.
    Better is good enough.

I have really been 'in the zone' this week and it has paid off on the scales so I just need to keep it up.

    *coping vibes* from me too!

That is weird but I think that you should be very happy if this target gets you out of the habit of swearing. I don't swear very often but when I do, it sounds awful and I regret it straight away. It's usually when I'm annoyed with something or someone.
