Popping by to cheer on from the sidelines. Doing the job of doom again this weekend - I know I said I wasn't going to but was persuaded (reluctantly but possibly inevitably given that its summer holidays and extra money is always welcome) and actually it is less stressful this time but still exceptionally time consuming.
I think you're all doing marvelously and I agree about altering what doesn't work for what is more relevant.
Thank you Joey, all sideline cheering gratefully received - and much needed in my case. Hope the Job of Doom is all over and you can just look forward to getting paid. :)

Get Kelpie to [STRIKE]come to call reliably[/STRIKE] stop barking inappropriatly by the end of the month. If we're going for an Awesome August, these will have to be part of it. Professional grooming day today - I'm very excited by the idea of seeing what he actually looks like. Jolly handsome, I hope. So how did it go? Was it a shampoo or more a brush-fest? I daresay he looks super-cute, but I hope he didn't find it stressful? (excuse the girly-pink writing, for some reason none of the others will work!!)
Hmm, they work in edit mode. <---- that was fun but very time-consuming.
Well that's weird, the red works fine outside the quote.

Today has been a mad day at work and I didn't have chance to ring the tree surgeon, and he hasn't rung me either. Job for tomorrow. Due to the madness I didn't set a 'must, should, want', so here are tomorrow's:

I MUST get hold of a tree surgeon, even if it's choice two. He'll be fine.
I SHOULD eat and drink healthily with no alcohol
I WOULD LOVE TO walk down to Caf! Nero for my free hot chocolate at lunchtime. Unless it's still raining really hard, in which case I would love to stay warm and dry!

Hope today is calmer at work, Happy and that you get time to trot down the street for your free hot chocolate. Love the rainbow post!

If Awesome August sounds a bit repetitive, how about Astonishing August - or do you want to leave it for a bit and come back at a later date, refreshed, fighting fit and full of enthusiasm? We've had a great six month run but it's sort of taken over your Debt Busting Thread a bit, hasn't it?
    1. Lights out by 11.30pm five nights a week. OH switched his off again at 11.30 which is really helpful!
    2. Maximum of five mugs of real coffee a week. Ran out of decaff yesterday and had a neighbour round for coffe. Two instants and I was flying, and I didn't much like the feeling. Went shopping and I'm now stocked up on the decaff.
    3. Five fruit and veg a day. Success.
    4. Get Kelpie to [STRIKE]come to call reliably[/STRIKE] stop barking inappropriatly by the end of the month. He barks more if he's hungry - Doh! He looks amazing after Karen's gentle ministrations and he coped with it very well. I'm very happy.
    5. Give myself a couple of hours every day when I don't feel guilty about not doing more. Long may this feeling last - it won't, but it feels good while it does.
    Better is good enough.

A good name, yes, but not original. We had Awesome April. It seems so long ago :)

    Ooops, never noticed :).

    Update for yesterday...

    1) None eaten.
    2) Light off at 11.10pm.
    3) Meal plan for the week already done.
    4) No spends on other people.
    5) Not done. I've decided that I need to try a different moisturiser as I don't think I was getting on with the other one. I didn't realise that I had such sensitive skin. Any recommendations appreciated.

    So, today:
My 'MUST' was to contact a tree surgeon. I decided to give my favourite one more chance because I really like him, so as well as ringing again I also completed his online contact form. If he doesn't reply by tomorrow morning I think I will have to take the hint and he's sacked!
My 'SHOULD' was to eat and drink healthily with no alcohol. It was going well until I called in at Miss Happy's on the way home from work and she'd been baking buns......The rest was good though and no alcohol.
My 'LOVE TO' was to pick up the free Priority Moment hot chocolate from Caf! Nero. Mission accomplished :D

    Tomorrow:
    • I must make the house look nice (well at least the rooms visitors see) in and amongst my home working, because the hairdresser is calling after work to de-grey me.
    • I should eat 5 F & V
    • I would love to spend an hour catching up on some diaries

I use Olay Regenerist and stock up when it's on half-price. That's still £9.99 but I love how 'comfy' it makes my skin feel. They do a fragrance-free version, but I don't really have sensitive skin so I don't know how good it would be for you. What are you using now? What about going round a few department stores and scoring free samples from the posh lady ranges? Did you ever come across Piquant who used to post here? She did that all the time, saved herself a fortune :D.

I think I will carry on because it motivates me to keep trying, even if I don't always manage Superwoman status :D. If either you or Dolphin are ready for some time off though, you go for it, you've earned it! My number one aim for Astonishingly Awesome August will be some sort of financial wizardry I think, but I haven't finalised anything yet.

It took me decades of trying different products that cost a fortune to discover that what really works for me is the N!vea range. Bog standard, often on special offer in Morribunds and totally effective at keeping my skin under control and looking good. The other thing that worked when my skin was in real trouble was Aqueous Cream although it's not for everybody, and my OH swears by Vitamin E moisturizer - he's a theatre type, where men discuss these things.
