Update for yesterday...
1) I had a chocolate mousse. I have decided that my weak time of the day is late afternoon as it's a long time from lunch (about 1pm) to dinner (about 7.30pm) so I have decided to buy some more fruit to cover this void.
Snap! It's my weakest time of day for eating cr*p. The munchies generally kick in at about 3.30 and by 4.00 I'm taking chunks out of the desk. If there are no Twinks around I'll settle for a couple of oatcakes but if I know there's something sugary and sinful that's when I start hunting it down. I have NO willpower at 4.00pm.Better is good enough.0 -
Yep, a good decision and successful.
Minor tweaks and resetting goals if they're not working seem to be working for both of us. I've never seen that there's much to be gained by bashing my head against a brick wall, but it is interesting finding out that some targets that look straightforward turn out to need a little bit of breaking down - well, they do for me, anyway.
I hope your tree surgeon phones back; down here if anyone is really good at what they do they don't bother to return calls until they know they can fit the work in, which is very frustrating because you never know if they're ignoring you permanently. New neighbours from Yorkshire thought when the gardener said 'You're on the list' that meant the work was imminent ... six months later, they still don't have a start date.... the other caramel and honeycomb.:)
I don't know if the Co-0p only stocks it in the southwest, but Kelly's (a Cornish ice cream company) do a clotted cream and honeycomb ice cream. Catastrophically for me our Co-0p at the bottom of the road does .... See my reply to Dolphin about 4.00pm.Better is good enough.0 -
- Lights out by 11.30pm five nights a week. Success, but goodness I was dragging myself around all day after the pub quiz late night. Interestingly, so was OH but he isn't normally that affected by it.
- Maximum of five mugs of real coffee a week. Success. I don't want to go back to what I was doing before, drinking more than a full caffetiere of super-strong real coffee a day, but I am pretty confident that the occasional real coffee won't do me any harm and I might even enjoy it. I honestly thought I'd never be able to kick that habit so I'm really pleased about this target.
- Five fruit and veg a day. Apricots, berries, peas, beans, raspberries.
- Get Kelpie to [STRIKE]come to call reliably[/STRIKE] stop barking inappropriatly by the end of the month. Still not there yet, but just working out that the driver behind the behaviour is fear is a great starting point. Disciplining a dog for doing something because it's frightened is cruel, so I'm glad I've worked out enough to know how best to start dealing with it. He's off to the chalet today with us and his new best friend for a romp on the beach at low tide this evening which should kna**er him completely and then on Monday he's going to the groomer at long last. I hope he copes with it; she's very, very good with nervous dogs and I've managed to get most of his undercoat out with the slicker which he absolutely loves - he hurls himself down when I show it to him so that I can do his sides and undercarriage but he's still a bit nervous of me going anywher near the 'under tail' area. His tail's a bit scruffy, too.
- Give myself a couple of hours every day when I don't feel guilty about not doing more. Too tired to feel guilty about anything but I dealt with a huge whole salmon that's been lurking in the freezer since December, stock-checked the freezer and turned the superking around so I'm slightly ahead of the game now. Hurrah!

Update for yesterday...
1) Managed to get through the afternoon with just a nectarine so all good there but then had a scoop of ice cream on my fruit after dinner.
2) Light off at 11.00pm.
3) Have done the meal plan for next week and ordered my shopping for tomorrow morning.
4) No spends on other people.
5) Not done.0 -
Argh, just look at the time. It's my own fault, I dozed off on the sofa this afternoon so I kind of knew this might happen. Quick update while I drink my tea then back to bed to try again.
Yesterday:
I MUST - wash that stinky dog while the weather is good. Done - she's gone all fluffy
I SHOULD - have a general tidy-round and hoover up all that dog hair. Done.
I WOULD LOVE TO - visit some good friends for a meal and a drink. This was pre-planned so a bit of a cheat, but done! Sweetcorn fritters, halloumi cheese & salad, with Rubicon because I was driving.
Sunday:
I MUST - do a supermarket shop and keep it below £40 for the week. Tight month.
I SHOULD - call at Miss H's house & take her some essential shopping bits because she's coming home after being in uni-town for a week.
I WOULD LOVE TO run the 2.7 mile route without stoppingLBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

Popping by to cheer on from the sidelines. Doing the job of doom again this weekend - I know I said I wasn't going to but was persuaded (reluctantly but possibly inevitably given that its summer holidays and extra money is always welcome) and actually it is less stressful this time but still exceptionally time consuming.
I think you're all doing marvelously and I agree about altering what doesn't work for what is more relevant.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

- Lights out by 11.30pm five nights a week. Unsuccessful on Saturday night but OH switched his off at 11.30 last night! Yay! I think he may be cottoning on to the system which would be helpful.
- Maximum of five mugs of real coffee a week. Ouch. Success, but for various reasons I had two cups of coffee in a cafe yesterday and just could not go to sleep last night. Given that I used to drink four or five mugs of super-strength homemade a day and now can't tolerate even two cups without it making sleeping a nightmare - I think this target has been reached and exceeded. Very happy with that information, plus which Part 2 of the The Far Pavilions was on Radio 4Extra to soothe me through my insomnia so it wasn't all bad.
- Five fruit and veg a day. Fail.
- Get Kelpie to [STRIKE]come to call reliably[/STRIKE] stop barking inappropriatly by the end of the month. If we're going for an Awesome August, these will have to be part of it. Professional grooming day today - I'm very excited by the idea of seeing what he actually looks like. Jolly handsome, I hope.
- Give myself a couple of hours every day when I don't feel guilty about not doing more. Guilt seems to be visiting someone else at the moment. Yay!
