Way to go Mrs HappyNow! :jYey to being in the double digits x
Thank you bothSomehow it feels like a massive milestone. My next shortish-term goal is to have paid off one third of the unsecured debt. That should happen on 15th May. I'm gonna have a big party here and you're both invited!

Also really pleased to hear Miss Happy is doing well, hopefully this year will be better for you all.
I'm loving the idea of Fab Feb, and very impressed by your staying power.
Hello FF, thanks for dropping by. I see you're saving for a house deposit. Go you! It must be so wonderful to be earning interest rather than paying it. Roll on 2019 and I will join you!!
Thanks for the good wishes. I wouldn't want to re-live 2014 that's for sure, but I've got a very good feeling about 2015LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

Sorry about not dropping back in last week to share progress on the Goals. I will, from now on, switch to subscribing daily and start the February regime from today.
Huge congratulations on reaching all of your goals up to Day 5, and even better, getting the overall debt down to below £100k. That's a massive achievement, very hard won. Well done.
Hello Honey Bear, I'm pleased you're still up for it. You've missed my easy part though, I am now starting to struggle a bit! I have very strong urges to eat sugar and not do houseworkI haven't given in on the sugar (other than my daily allowance of a mini box of smarties) but I did no cleaning on Saturday and today's not looking promising either  Might try and tackle a bit of cupboard tidying later on, just so's I can say I've done it.
Wow, well done on giving up alcohol completely. I've been surprised at how easily I've got through the last eight days, but I think I will be ready for a nice glass of red in March. Maybe two! I'll save £40 over the month though because I was probably knocking back two bottles a week
I was going to investigate Spider, but then remembered that the LAST thing I need is another habit!
Looking forward to seeing your progress and I will log on at 11 each night to check your green light is off :rotfl:LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

I too pledged to not waste a single penny this month. Just need to work harder on Mr P.....
Hello Pooh, I have your diary on my catch-up list, right at the top. Hope everything is going well. Mr H is wasting a bit too. He has developed a fascination for buying bacon sandwiches on his way to work. I will be having a chat with him about it!

Forgot my Fab Feb round-up!
Day 6 - Done
Day 7 - Mostly done. Just could not face any cleaning/tidying/decluttering.
Day 8 - Done. Went into a bit of a cleaning frenzy to make up for the previous day's failings.
Day 9 - That's today, but I'm going to bed now so I'm counting it as complete. Struggling a bit today, probably because it's Monday and I'm back at work. Everything achieved except cleaning, I just cba!

wow well done on keeping up with your challenges. I should do something similar, but working nights takes so much out of me at the moment..
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

*hands in tardy slip and takes seat at back of class*
Monday:
1 No money wasted, but not a NSD. It's not my fault the window cleaners chose to turn up yesterday but *sigh* just the same.
2 Spreadsheet up to date.
3 All okay on the alcohol front. The good folk on the Giving up/cutting down alcohol thread have found that stopping drinking increases sugar cravings quite dramatically. That's my excuse, anyway.
4 Managed peas, onions, courgettes and more peas. *must try harder*
5 Managed three mugs of blackcurrent tea. *must try harder*
6 Flying: Defo did 15 minutes and then some! My side of the bedroom is sparkly having been spring-cleaned and a cupboard turfed out.
7 11.05pm. Oops. *another tardy slip*
8 The spider session lasted considerably longer than it should but technically I achieved that goal!
I used to think that if I didn't do absolutely everything on my list that I had failed. I've come to realise that whatever gets me motivated enough to make any kind of progress is brilliant, and any progress at all is a huge improvement on the status quo. *pats self on back*Better is good enough.0 -
I have just read this diary from the beginning and want to say how well you have done
I am now debt free after a struggle but due to a huge family upset things are now very tight and I have to say I have learnt so much from you and I can see just how important a diary is = but need to have a look around to see if there is somewhere for me to put one - I need a category that says something like - was debt free but teetering on the edge - thanks to you I am determined not to go there again - not because I see your struggles but I am motivated by such sucesses. If you can live frugally why cant I - I am so determined now NOT to allow DH to get that credit card he has found.
HxEmergency fund £10,000
Several categories with savings in
Cars, house maintenance, birthdays
Etc I have about 10 categories
Really happy to be debt free after being a compulsive spender0 -

It's the working days that are taking the edge off mine too, so if I was doing nights there'd be no chance! Last week I worked from home all week because our lane was too icy to get out to work. Everything seemed a lot easier then! You could always do a scaled down version - maybe pick just a couple of things that you'd like to work on?LBM Dec 2011.
