Thank you VictorM
am I right in saying we should both claim our insurance for both halves.0 -
Yes, I imagine that this option is the only one your insurance company will give you as any Claims Handler worth their salt is going to know that they will probably never see any money from your reluctant neighbour.0

Yes, absolutely. Victor is right, put in your own claim independant of your neighbour. I've been in this situation and thankfully I followed my instinct.if i had known then what i know now0 -

Go through your insurance for your own half and let your neighbour worry about his own. If he protests shrug your shoulders and say your insurer insists on doing it this way because of FSA regulations.0 -

I agree with you that there are lots of company in the market but all companies are not good. I have recently purchased a home and I want to insure it but I am little confused that which company provide the best policy. I have got lots of suggestions form your editorial.0 -

Our house was underpinned in c1988, has been fine since (obviously!). We've just had major building work completed and I've run our details just through GoCompare so far - and have ONE quote of £984.... (policy is up in about 3 weeks)
I thought our current insurers were taking the mickey with a quote of £870 (roughly £400+ on last year for 2 extra bedrooms) but now I'm thinking that sounds reasonable. Current insurance includes a £1500 excess for subsidence.
Do i actually need to phone around and try to explain? this whole area was underpinned around that period so the postcode should surely reflect the current risks if they all compare claim details - or do I credit the industry with too much info sharing?
Any help gratefully received.0 -
I have recently purchased a home and I want to insure it but I am little confuse that which policy is better for my home and I also afraid that there are lots of company in the market which are fake. Can you give me some suggestion for this problem?0
